Reid gets first “random” drug test

Weren't a lot of his "random drug tests" from last season basically implied or straight up stated that they never happened?

The NFLPA investigated the issue, and found no evidence for the number of drug tests Reid claimed he had.  The NFLPA came back with a number for the amount of tests Reid claimed he had, which was lower.

You're an NFL player.  You're subject to random drug tests.  Get over it or get out of the league.  Seems pretty simple.  Piss in the cup or piss off.

As for the implication of some sort of targeting or whatever, the NFL no longer has any reason to do so.  His case was settled.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
