Hogan's a very reliable guy. Reminds me a lot of Ricky Proehl '03 - '05.

Thought it would make sense to do so, I don't think we're going to release Torrey Holt. We'll probably use him mostly as a burner (DJ & Samuel as #1 & 2#, Wright as #3 & Hogan in the slot).

Torry Holt?!

I'm not convinced we could get a grilled cheese sandwich.

It's actually national grilled cheese day so the market is saturated. No way we get a decent one today. 40% fat free cheddar tops. Not even gouda.

Chris Hogan on going from Brady to Newton: "Tom was great. He demanded a lot and was an ultimate competitor. From what I hear and just from watching Cam, he’s the ultimate competitor as well. Really excited about the opportunity to play with him."

No way we would sign Hogan without releasing Smith.  That’s way too much for maybe a 5th option, at best.

We only kept him around for insurance until we found someone else.

Chris Hogan says he's been meeting a lot of people around the building today, but they haven't gotten around to defining his role. (I think he's going to be playing on the outside a lot, with a little time in the slot, FWIW)

Hogan calls Cam & CMC "the ultimate competitors" - obviously excited to be able to get on the field with the two of them.

Chris Hogan went to Greg Olsen's rival high school.

Chris Hogan went to Greg Olsen's rival high school. Never played against him, but he says he "grew up watching" Olsen and admiring him.

Chris Hogan, on how many times he's been asked about lacrosse in the last five years. "(laughs). Too many to count."

The needing a WR early in the draft is over now right??

Probably not... this looks like a place holder type signing to me. If the draft doesn’t unfold the way hurney wants this is a contingency plan. He can’t be making uncuttable money and could be lost in roster cut down. Either way something is up... no way torry, Wright, and hogan end up on the final roster along with the others.

Reggie Bush gave Chris Hogan his "7-eleven" nickname (because he's always open). Hogan said he hopes the nickname sticks in Carolina - "Because that means I'm doing my job right."

Hogan on his "7-11" nickname because he was "always open": "Reggie Bush gave me that nickname and hopefully if I'm doing my job right, I'll get to keep it."

Chris Hogan knows the Olsen family pretty well. His NJ high school was the rival of Olsen's. They didn't play each other, but Olsen's dad coached against Hogan. Greg and Chris have gotten to know each other a bit in the NFL.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
