Mark my words. Cam is about to have a spectacular season this year. He might be 14 this year but in two years I could see him top 5 and thats how much I trust in his arm.  Tepper better get the check book ready as well.

... at number 14, which is pretty damn good considering he's only going into his age 30 season and could easily play 6-8 more. Keep in mind this list has 51 overall number 1 picks.  Can't really argue too much with the players ranked ahead of him besides Stafford, who's much less accomplished than Cam but his passing numbers are great.

Its a pretty cool article. Although its bizarre they only seem to focus on the past couple of seasons in his little synopsis and not mentioning him having a crazy rookie season, the 2015 MVP/SB run, or the fact that hes got more rushing TDs than any QB in NFL history.

And friendly reminder of these QBs who won their first SB later in life

  • Payton Manning : Age 30 (and went to 4 SBs in his 30s)
  • Jim Plunkett : Age 33 (won another at age 36)
  • John Elway : Age 37 (another at 38)

Everything is a bit up in the air with his recent shoulder injuries, but here's to hoping for a revitalization and winning the first SB for the Panthers.

Matt Stafford ahead of Cam??? Wowzers....

Ifs only cam had elite gm and elite competent front office elites coaching elites weapons and elitist oline and a dominant defense imaginez how goodz he’d be!!!?!??

If he had decent play calling and a OL to protect him, we see what can we happen with a field full of JAGs + CAM 15-1 and almost a SB if we didn't have to play in one of the most rigged games ever.

I guess you are one of those guys that thinks Delhomme was the best QB we ever had.

Cam has carried this team and coaching staff since he was drafted.

Years of running 2 times for no gain,3rd and long, ok cam now you got to make a perfect throw to your receivers that cant get any kind of seperation all while running for dear life because your OL is trash, on 3 ready, break huddle.

I don't see why the OL needs to think it's better than everyone else

It may not be here. His injury really hurts more because he hasn't had it fixed and it's given him fits for two seasons now. He isn't a Payton Manning who is as cerebral as any player in league history and already had a favorable release and trajectory for a weaker arm. Cam throws bullets that are flat because of his arm angle and throwing motion. Weakness in the shoulder, his primary torque converter for lower to hand to ball, has failed. Unless he reinvents himself, what we saw down the stretch last season could become the new norm, and thus, the end of Cam Newton in the NFL.

I'd love to be wrong but Andrew Luck had the injury, swallowed his pride, got it fixed, worked on it for an entire season before returning. Cam just keeps playing, running, hitting. You don't keep driving a misfiring vehicle and expect it to get better, or not cause other issues. You change the damn spark plugs, COP's, fuel injectors, CAT, or whatever the issue is, if you have the money. Cam has a huge guarantee and could've taken time to get his shoulder repaired but instead, what was a spark plug misfire became a clogged cat. Clogged CAT damaged the downpipe causing it to crack. Loss of compression caused oil to beginning burning, it ran low, and now the lifters are broken.

That is a $3,000 fix, depending on the vehicle.
