Double Dip in the 2nd. Yay or Nay?

Yes--if the talent is there, but I do not see it happening.  I would rather trade the thirds and grab a starting OL and S and close up shop until tomorrow. (Double dip in the second round)

I'm with you on this. Ideally, we sit tight at 47 and get the best o-lineman, then use our thirds to go up and get a FS.

That being said, I would be very excited to completely rejuvenate our pass rush in one draft potentially.

i don't think we need another 3-4 OLB type like Burns, but i'm not convinced we have enough personnel at DE for the 3-4. I know we won't play in it all the time, but we need another 285-290 pound type. Zack Allen could work and likely could play immediately.

Use the 3rds to get us another pick in the 2nd, get FS and OL.

If we do it right, that’s 3 starters in the first 2 rounds. Use Saturday to get you a backup QB if you want, as well as another DE, and maybe a RB.

DTs are suddenly gone-Saunders or Jones could be in play---but I think the pick is going to be Little or Rapp.  As much as you do not like Little at T, they can work him at G now.  Look at his measurables--off the charts.  35" Arms, 101/4 hands.

Overview

Little possesses the important combination of size, length and quickness as a prototypical left tackle prospect. While he wasn't asked to do it much in 2018, he has the athletic ability to handle zone-blocking duties, which could suit his skill-set more than a physical rush attack. Little is a natural bender with good feet and pepper in his punch as blind-side protector, but his average anchor and inconsistent body control create some concern. He will be an early starter at left tackle, but needs to improve his strength and eliminate his tendency to lean in order to reach the potential his physical and athletic traits offer.

He needs some work.  play him at LG and develop him for a season at LT---I guess that would work.  Do not understand the hate based on his athletic ability and measureables.

That is a good draft, regardless of what we do on day 3--where we take the backup QB and maybe one of the deep WRs.

Burns won't be starting right away nor would any linemen unless at guard. About the only position where we could find an immediate starter is at Safety or Corner if they slide Jackson inside. There weren't plug and play O linemen in the first yet alone later. Sure these guys will rotate in but they aren't better than who we have as starters now.

    • I encourage you to go back and watch his college play. Notice how he immediately backpedals to 10 yards behind the LOS on almost every snap. You can't do that in the NFL. Your OTs have no chance of keeping those freak show edge rushers off of you. You can't create a pocket that deep. If you drop back like that in the NFL on a regular basis you're basically on your own. Your OL can't do a whole lot for you. Bryce can chuck it when he has an airport runway in front of him to step up into. There's a reason why "ease of generating velocity" is such a talking point evaluating QBs. It's not how hard or how far you can throw the ball given a perfect situation. It's how hard and how far you can throw the ball in a typical NFL game situation and that's where a lot of my concerns with Bryce were going into the draft. There were way too many plays in his college tape that if you were watching that purely in terms of translating it to the NFL it just didn't work.
    • Yeah, like I said I get it. From a revenue perspective I'm not a good customer for them. They've probably intentionally tanked offline franchise mode to try to get people online. Again, not a terrible strategy from a pure business perspective. I can't really be mad at them for doing what's good for business but yeah, from my perspective it still sucks.
    • Ok let me be more specific. Smith was a stud before Newton got here do you not agree? Yes, LaFell improved under Cam but then had his best years after leaving the Panthers with Cam as the QB and going to NE. So he improved playing with someone else. Olsen was in Chicage the year before Cam arrived and statistically had the same numbers his first year with Cam.  Hope that's clearer for you.
