Hurney gets an A

With the number of holes on the roster and not a lot of cap space, he did a really good job drafting talent and filling holes with FA signings. Did I prefer a few different guys, sure. But we got younger, faster and more talented in several areas. We will still have to go into FA to get a true FS and nickle: if Corn Elder makes the team I'll take everything I said back. If Cam is healthy, we are going back to the playoffs. I really dont know much more he could do to strengthen the roster.

At CB: Don't underestimate getting Cockrell and Seymour back.  Both better than Elder.  Poor Corn.  I had high hopes for him but maybe he still comes through. 

Safety though is still a mystery; maybe the FA we get is at least fast this year.  Tired of the non-Corn elders if you're picking up what I'm putting down.

Secondary coach last season was asleep at the wheel. Corn did some things that are easily corrected with good coaching, which we have now in Fewell. I think he’ll turn it around this year. Hope so anyway.

At CB, the only hope on the roster is Cockrell. That’s really it and the depth is terrible. At FS, the only hope is a FA. Again, the depth is terrible. God forbid one of our CBs or Reid get hurt, there’s nothing there.

Unfortunately it was worse with Corn v. SEA.  Cockrell is pretty much it.  Won't disagree.

Yep agree Cockrell will help alot. Hate he got hurt in training camp

There’s no way...RumHam said at least 100 times this weekend that Hurney sucks and should be fired.

This draft will sink or swim on how good Greg little ends up, a lot of tackles went right before or after he was selected, plus we traded up for him, I’m highly optimistic, if anything he should be able to perform highly at guard

I will give this offseason an A- with the caveat that the offseason is far from over. The next big date is around May 8. I think the Panthers lost 4 UFA and have signed 3. To protect any compensatory pick they may be entitled to they will not sign any UFA veterans until after around May 8. They can sign cut players before that date.

This is where I am at right now with this team. Tepper demands excellence. He talked about how he felt certain groups were not communicating effectively.  So they made the changes in the staff.  We need to get to a point where we can develop quality players throughout our roster.  No a guy who is a UDFA should not have the skills of a 1st rounder.  But our problem seems as though everyone is lost half the time.  Not knowing assignments.  

I am hoping these new additions to the coaching staff can start to develop some of these guys into serviceable pieces.
