Elijah Holyfield

UDFA's are a shot in the dark but I wouldn't mind hedging my bets on a Holyfield.

RBs have been slaying it out of nowhere these past few years; I.E. Cohen, Conner, Lindsay, Breida, Gus Edwards, Kerryon Johnson.  Guys are coming out of every direction, the draft, and UDFA.

I will say this, 40 times are a bullshit football measurement. Rarely do players run 40 yards in a straight line. I would much rather know what your 20 yard dash time is or your 3 cone drill. when you watch him in pads Holyfield he plays faster than his 4.78

Had three talented backs? Lol

Laugh all you want, but they had Marshawn Lynch, Jalen Richard and DeAndre.Washington. At the time, all three were productive in the Raiders' backfield before Chucky. Lynch goes without saying. Richard is their Swiss army knife, and even Washington was showing potential (and his YPC confirms it).

I might like him better as a fullback. Admittedly though, I'm skeptical of his chances to make the team.

Someone else mentioned that Hurney likes to sign undrafted guys with ties to famous people or athletes. It's cool and all, but so far hasn't really produced anybody special.

Lol talented on paper? They were bad during tc and hood couldnt even make it

Doesn't invalidate anything.

I get that people are often enthralled by the the new kids on the block, but I'll believe it when I see it. At this point there is no reason to put one late round or UDFA over the other. I've seen all this excitement and hype before, but one or more could easily be destined for multiple seasons on the practice squad.

    • Bryce just didn't maximize Hunter Renfrow's skills. ***rant incoming*** But this isn't just about Bryce Young mistiming passes to Renfrow so bad that he's going to get Renfrow killed or hurt, this is also about incompetentence by Dave Canales. Renfrow can still play. He's putting DBs in a blender out there---making them play twister at the top of routes to keep up with him, and dumb Dave has the nerve to cut him. How about putting Hunter in the best position to help the damned offense by appreciating his skill set, DC? You're letting Bryce's apparent inability to make an accurate throw, or at least his timidity to push the ball down the damned field cloud your judgment and miscalculate talent---or maybe just miss on talent just as much as Bryce misses passes due to playing pussified football. It's fúcking unacceptable.  Speaking of misjudgment, I don't know if it's Dan Morgan or Canales, but Eijiro Evero is not the business at DC. I have said a few times that his scheme is not conducive to run-stopping efficiency. Hell, and after watching some clips of plays, now I absolutely know why. The gaps are at least half open before the play even fúcking starts. You are setting the opposition's RBs up for success with too much damned space at the line and in the second level. If our guys are taken out in these areas---at the line and in the second level---then the defense is screwed because it must rely on the safeties to cover too much ground to make the tackle. At least put Ransom in who is motivated to seek and destroy if you're going to effectively leave the safeties on an island.  And speaking of rookies, get our two new defensive ends more snaps to see if we can't generate more of a pass rush. For all the good the continued sorry display of defense that you're putting out for fan's to see (Ejiro, Dave and Dan), you may as well get the rookies generously involved. Fúck that money we gave second-rate (maybe second-rate) vets, we need a damned spark getting after the QB. Watch it, it's just another breakdown of the sh¡t we were subjected to last week. I say this with all respect: Fúck you, Dave! Fúck you, Dan! Learn how to run a fúcking franchise. Maximize the players, regardless of what you think you're supposed to do by the book. Cut the dead weight before another season is lost and fans lose interest in September. EE is "Ew!" Or for emphasis "EEw!" /end rant
    • But nobody is saying he is a good deep ball passer.  But the facts are since he's returned from his benching, he has been throwing downfield.  Whether you want to credit the scheme, Bryce himself, or whatever, he has been pushing it deep.  Not to any positive results mind you, but it has been happening.
