Drafts past. Playoffs for other sports going on so question. Are the Carolina Hurricanes more relevant in the Carolina's now than the Hornets?

For years, I've had Charlotte residents try to convince me how the Hurricanes were irrelevant and more people show up to Hornets games. The Hurricanes have been to 3 ECF's, two Stanley Cups, and won a Stanley Cup.

While the the Hornets have only been to the Second Round of the Playoffs.

I think it's time to put the Hornets are more relevant than the Hurricanes to rest at this point.

You don't see these types of crowds at Hornets games:

I think hockey is much more entertaining than basketball.  Sorry Hornets fans.  You could put an NBA perennial contender in Charlotte, and I'd still rather go see the Hurricanes.  I just don't find basketball very "fun" to watch anymore.

it only takes one guy, ask Cleveland. the savior has yet to arrive. he will come one day.

Been saying that for over 30 damn years. Most have given up now. Plus, that anus from Akron left Cleveland, then went back. Now he's left again. LOL.

The modern NBA makes it nearly impossible for teams like the Hornets to compete for a championship, so yes.

Yep, the NBA would drastically improve the competitiveness of the league as a whole if they'd get rid of the max contract stipulations. Want a LeBron or Curry or Durant? Fine. Pay them their actual market value like NFL teams instead of contracts falsely capped. That's why all these superstars want to team up to create superteams. There's no reason not to. It's not like another team could offer them more.

    • Got to give some credit to the coaching staff on these. You can grab top talents but without good coaching, they just fizzle out. We've seen that a lot around here.
    • Oh, no TV for tonight's game unless you have the NHL Network, I believe. I could be wrong, hopefully?
    • Early returns are great and exciting but also worth noting that Gettleman had a few drafts that looked incredible early on and wound up mostly sucking (2014 mainly). Also PFF; grain of salt, etc.    I'm completely sold on Tet being a stud, knocked a high pick out of the park like we needed to and always should. Nearly sold on Scourton. Not sold on Princely but he had flashes. Not sold on Etienne as more than a 3rd stringer and special teamer, but that's not terrible for his draft position. Big fan of Ransom and think he'll be a starter.  Cam Jackson : IDK, I see limited upside but we didn't see much of him Evans was a nice find for draft position and he had a great rookie year for a late round rookie TE with plenty of veteran competition. Not sure about his upside though, seems like best case is a long term #2/3 TE, which isn't bad. Jimmy Horn, personally I didn't see a damn thing from him that impressed me all year. And he got a lot of opportunities. Pulling for the kid, but not convinced he's an NFLer.   UDFA: Fitzgerald was an amazing find
