Slightly off-topic but something I've been wondering how other folks feel, what do you think of agents trying to get players (ie: Wilson in Seattle) %s of the salary cap rather than hard amounts? Aside from being a positive for the players, part of me wonders how quickly that can lead to a team being more hamstrung than previously anticipated (based on how we would see the cap rise and sometimes go, "SWEET! AN EXTRA $6M TO GO SHOPPIIIIIING!!!).

No way I would go for that as a team. A big part of the benefit for a team to offer a player a multi-year contract is to get that player under contract at today's rates. In exchange, the player gets a big chunk of cash up front from the signing bonuses.

What would help our pass rush more than anything is Short actually being in that race. He's paid to be a disruptive force but he played like a JAG last year. That Pro Bowl appearance was a joke.

Expecting a season like he had before, every year is not realistic. Nor is it realistic to expect him to have another down year. Somewhere in the middle would be fine.

That last part is where I'm thinking that in order to get such a deal, that it will come at the expense of the guaranteed money in order to get the annual % increase.

Ugh... how ugly would that be if a player with a % dedicated to them had to be cut with multiple years left on the deal... bleh

Are the other x3 top 5 DTs not named Aaron Donald (who made $40M last season) overpaid/underperforming as well then?

Dude was not looking at the stats at all cause I guess he knew his argument was crushed.  KK had one off year when the entire defense had an off year.  When everyone looks lost, it is coaching.  Even still, he was statistically formidable compared to other high paid DTs as you proved with the stats.  Also, he had an ankle injury too.  I believe it was just like Trai Turner's knee injury two seasons ago.  They don't broadcast and we don't have that insider information until after the season.  I don't understand how Huddlers never take that into account when they are trying to bash our players.  I mean dude is arguing that a 3 & 1/2 less sacks the season after 11 means the pro bowl season was a fluke.  Wow!!!

Actually I posted salary and performance comparisons.

He wanted to take off Donald as an anomaly in a discussion comparing salary and performance which makes no sense. If I took away the least performer of the top 10 DTs of 2018, KK would now be the worst.

If you cherry pick like that and add things in like injury, coaching and having an ‘off year’ it’s not facts anymore it’s just speculating and opinion.

In my opinion KK had one great year, one awful year and the rest are below average when looking at the money he made.

And in 2018, looking at pay grade and performance with position relativity, and taking out Donald, for whatever reason, it would be impossible to say the top 3 DTs underperformed because relatively speaking...they’re top 3.

KKs salary over his contract will average out top a top 3 DT. His performance averages below that.

But yea let’s not include his ‘off year’ last year. Let’s keep in mind his defense and coaching sucks. Let’s remember he was unofficially injured. And yea let’s just forget about Donald...now we’re looking pretty good.

Instead of thinking huddled ‘bash’ players why don’t we have a discussion, not as you say an ‘argument’, one that isn’t prefaced with you being on the defense, because that’s all I’m doing. I’m not bashing KK.

Wheb you use use words like ‘bash’ and ‘argument’ you’re really talking about opinions and emotions. I’m looking at the money he’s making and comparing his snaps and production with 10 or so guys making the same salary. That’s it. I’ve posted the results, read them however you like.

Um... excuse me? I asked aside from Donald, because I'm not even going to entertain a discussion that he wasn't the clear cut best DT in football last season and has been since coming into the league. So when you compare KK to the other DTs in the top 5, how do they line up 2 - 5. KK lines up 3rd, which is where he lands in getting paid.

Let's avoid making up further bullshit just because previous bullshit got called out and shut down.

I just posted the salaries and performance in 2018. You want to take the top DT in football because he’s the top DT? Makes no sense because his 2018 salary is close to KKs. So if Kk is paid to be a top 5 DT why would be not include a top 5? Because he’s good? I really don’t get it.

for 2018 Kk does not line up at third. I just posted this. He lines up in the 10th range. But yes you’re correct his salary is much higher. That’s my point.

you are way too emotional. Let’s just say I agree with the above fact and you don’t.

Posting statistics is emotional, but claiming a player is overpaid/lazy without any actual evidence other than your butthurt is calm and rational.

Got it.

Speaking of speed

Dont sleep on this guy, especially now in a defense that fits him better

For some reason he’s getting sweep way under the rug I believe he may ready to explode off the edge in a better scheme suited for his speed and a year of nfl training but is there even a roster spot for him?
