Cam plays 1 series

Kyle Allen and Grier split the rest of quarter 1, 2, and 3

Burns gets a sack

Samuel catches a long pass

I pray Cam doesnt play jist because, I fear for his life with Mack facing Williams or Little

24-17 Panthers

Just now, Jeremy Igo said:

I honestly would be shocked.

If he plays or just the 1 series?

I hope he doesnt because all it takes is 1 Kalil Mack shot and our season is in jeopardy

I could see him however playing 1 series due to

1. New Center, gotta get reps with him

2. Still young WRs, who are starting that he needs to get rhythm with

I can't see Rivera putting Cam in for this game. There is literally no upside with a whole lot of down side.

No Cam. I'm thinking no Luke.

The first string D punishes the Bears O, and they barely manage to move the ball more than a first down or two. Allow no touchdowns until the 2nd team works its way in.

Allen gets first team reps. Grier gets one drive in the first half. Shows out in the second.

Gano misses his first field goal and this place literally immolates.

I think the depth of this team shows up and we look better with the 2's and 3's than we have in recent years.

This year's team has more quality depth in most positions than we have had in quite a few years, and I think that will show well in the preseason including this game.

I wouldn't be surprised if we win most if not all the preseason games b/c of this

This is a good situation to be in, especially as the season progresses.

Picking scores in the pre-season is a total crapshoot.

These games (the first 3 especially) are decided by the 2nd and 3rd stringers, playing for a roster spot.  Anybody can fumble; anybody can run back a pick.

Though it's subject to change, Rivera's already said "all 4 QB's will play."  We'd all be shocked if Cam sees more than the first series.

All that said, I think our depth is better than it's been in many years, and better than the Bears'.

Panthers 24, Bears 13.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
