I can see the offense not doing well with Cam, CMC, and Greg taking off. But should the vastly improved defense suck this bad just because Luke isn't out there?

But if you had to pick a time, preseason is where its at. Or practice. But not during the regular season. If they only played good football at all times there would be no need for coaching or development.

Yes .. We are talking about a HOF LB right?? You don't replace that with a vanilla game plan and 2 guys with little to no game time playing experience.. Sorry.. We can clearly see the Bill's attacking that exact spot where normally a HOF and a 1st round draft pick would be at..

That's a valid point. I'd think a personnel or formation adjustment would have been made early though. As a coach, you can't ask a player to do something they just can't do for too long. The player and the team loses confidence, and your opponent gains momentum exploiting the matchup. That mismatch negated anything anyone else was doing on the defense.

Carolina didn’t play 5 1st round draft picks with 4 of these players being the top 4 best players on the team. Let that sink in
