Your reaction to the post says more about you than it does him. Didn't read the article, but "Eric Reid's activism might overshadow excellent play for Panthers" is as objective a statement as you will find in journalism. The NFL has many fans who find the method of activism troubling and an affront to values they hold dear. Others love his activism for the values that they hold dear. However, by and large, the veracity with which Eric speaks can be off putting for many, as evidenced by his Eagles Pre-Game dust-up in 2018.

Thus, its plausible to assume his methods could put off others who otherwise support him. There are far more supporters of Jay-Z than there are of Reid. Jay-Z taking a different route, by investing and obtaining a seat at the table through that investment seems logical. Real football fans also know that Kaep as a back-up QB won't work for multiple reasons including offensive schemes and pay (Kaep turned down a contract offer from the Seahawks for quite a bit of money).

In conclusion you seem to be overreacting to a completely innocuous, object caption for a tweet.

In fact lots of NFL fans ONLY know of Reid because of his angry protests/outbursts/tweets.

He's at best a borderline starter and his days of doing so are numbered.

It frightens him.  Feelings without origin.  Bodily reactions reason can't control.  He drinks at night.  Sweating, staring into the lit screen in dark room.  Silence booms in his ears.  Ice dances in his drink from the steady shaking of his hand.  His mind, taxed and weary, pours over his hastily scribbled practice notes.

"E.R. playing well/Looks great"

The words don't even register.  Like lyrics from a forgotten song they loop.  Softly at first, they rise, taking over.  Now enveloped by the thoughts he finds himself dreaming of E.R....

"No!"

He startles too, spilling cheap whiskey on his dingy t-shirt.  He puts his laptop down, gulps down the glass and weeps softly till morning...

Hey man, he kicks himself in his sleep over sexist comments. He’s clearly fragile so give him a break.

I think this whole thread probably proves Newton's point.

The guy could have a season like Ed Reed and folks would just concentrate their attention on his activism (whether pro or con) and miss out on what he actually means to the team.

That's just the world we live in I guess.

Eh, it doesn't bother me. Reid's a good safety, when he's in shape. His first few games last year sucked mostly b/c he hadn't played for months. This country allows free speech so if he wants to say something, go for it. Just don't tell a female reporter "It's funny to hear a woman talk about routes".

Same for David Newton. If he wants to go on & on about Eric Reid's activism instead of play, fine by me. Just do me a favor & get your facts right David!!! BTW does anyone ever miss Pat Yasinskas, the former NFC South journalist?

Yep, sucks the Panther penis but that's how our society works nowadays.

I mean he's right. With attacking great people like Jay-Z he's not helping his case. Jay-Z basically solved the matter and Reid went full retard on him. Just like with the eagles game.

How did Jay-Z “basically solve the matter”?

By making a deal with the NFL and assuming leadership of the situation....

...nobody more woke than Jay-Z and he is now the lead dog --- unless ur Jay-Z the view doesn't change.
