Something Positive

Can't forget the "Glass is dirty" crowd that just hate the the coaching, the leadership, the fanbase and about 70% of the players. They think it's going to suck no matter what.

Honestly, there will be a big difference between opening day and the pre-season. We aren't doing anything but vanilla versions of our systems on defense and offense. We aren't game planning, but just trying guys here and there to determine depth charts and cuts. The guys on the O-line aren't hitting and getting physical like they will and we aren't pushing the CMC run game yet.

Once it matters, we'll get out there. And look, we were looking for a good reason to keep Cam on the bench until opening day. He'll be fine. And no one has a great QB as their QB2.

Remember what Olsen said..” you can’t just wave a magic wand and everyone starts playing better”.

Usually if you play terrible in the preseason you play terrible when the real season starts.

On paper put o-line is one of the best Cam has ever had here. Let’s not let Week 3 of the preseason make us all think the sky is falling. We’ve got studs up and down the o-line this year, and we even have a little bit of quality depth. I for one, am not concerned about the line just yet.

I agree with this although it is not a popular stance with the knee jerk crowd.  Hurney attempted to make the line better with a new center and depth from the draft.  I know Greg Little is not looking all-pro yet and is deemed a bust before the end of preseason but I too would rather let the season get further along before writing this group off.

While I agree with some of the concerns about the o-line. One thing i believe is missing but hope will get better is the line adjustments from the center. R. Kalil did a fine job helping the interior by pointing out things from opposing defenses.  A new center and a tackle learning to play a new side, not to mention not having played many meaningful snaps together as a unit can make a potentially good line look awful.

Except most of your negative points are crap. We did address the O line very well in the off season but expecting them to be proficient at blitz pickups before the season starts is stupid. Cam hurt his foot he isn't breaking down and so far Greg is good. We have 3 probowl DTs including one that is a 6 time probowler. Poe did his best work in a 3-4while with KC. Josh Norman wasn't Josh Norman until year 4. This is Bradberry's fourth year. Again we haven't even played a regular season down yet. Anyone who thinks we are in trouble isn't half full, they are totally full of it.

Would you be shocked if Cam has a season ending injury, or multiple nagging injuries throughout the season? Would you be shocked if Greg's foot breaks again? The o-line is a huge question mark. I have my doubts that the defense will be great. I doubt Bradberry will put up Norman type numbers. That sounds like crap to you? God the way you describe the team we're on our to the SB. Homer55 in the house with a full glass.

Until the actual negative events occur then the way I choose to be is positive. If you want to be negative fine but yeah I think that attitude is crap. But don't despair you might be right about something. Even a broken clock is right about the time twice a day.

Half the post was totally positive. I'm hoping for a terrific season. I would never despair over anything as trivial as football.

I love how folks call fans homers as if that is a bad thing. Being a Panther fan means I will always be positive and optimistic.  If you aren't you need to find something else to do on Sunday or some other team to care about. Life is too short to be negative and unhappy.  I surely understand more about that then most but choose to be a Fanatic about the Panthers. For short just call me a fan. And a Homer.

If someone isn't always positive and optimistic about the Panthers then they shouldn't be a fan? Ridiculous.

They are still a fan just like bandwagon fans are fans.  You can be disgruntled angry unhappy negative and any other adjective you can think of.  I just find that no matter what happens from week to week, I stay as positive as possible. I find I enjoy the ride a lot more and even when disappointed, I bounce back. I just would honestly change my team if I couldn't be happy about my team.  But hey that is just me. ... I don't speak for anyone else.
