Yes he’s a rookie, but he looks like the game is too big for him. Staring down his first read and if not way too hesitant. He has a long long way to go and I'm not expecting much.

Im not ready to label him trash. He was the 100th player taken, only had one off-season and 4 pre-season games. Hes had a few TERRIBLE plays, but that was one hell of 40 yard TD pass too.  

Please start judgement during the 2nd NFL off-season.

In his first 2 seasons Drew Brees threw 31 INT's vs. 28 TD's....and he fumbled it 7 times too!

Now he's a 1st ballot lock for the Hall of Fame.

As others have mentioned, he didn't look as good as other third and fourth round picks drafted this year. I'm also old enough to remember a guy being drafted in the third round and looked so good in his rookie preseason, he took over the starter gig from a highly paid free agent signed earlier that off-season. He went on to win a Super Bowl, and probably should have won a second so can we stop with the "he was drafted in the third round" as some sort of excuse for his poor play.

Never was a fan of the pick, but as I said in a discussion about him last week, he clearly has the NFL arm talent...  he's just lacking in the mental aspect.  He's slow in his progressions and often appears to default to just tossing it up or running into pressure if his early reads aren't there.  I think he'll get better, but you never know.

Yeah, he looks poor at this early stage. There's no way we're cutting a 3rd round pick after one pre-season though...
