Well, I am glad to catch them early rather than late. Hopefully our respective levels of rust puts us in good shape.

What I know about them? They have my favorite corner of all time......

Should have easily been an interception if not for that blatant offensive pass interference!

1 of those games featured Cam Newton minus the blatant shots to the head.

You guess which 1.

Should be 2-1.

Missing that game winning kick in Mile High is unforgivable. John Kasay may have had his Super Bowl gaffe, but I think he makes that game winner 10 times out of 10.

Kasay missed a kick in the Meadowlands that would have given us HFA in 08

This is true, that was what, a 50 yarder?

To be clear about that though, he was 39, and retired only two years later. Unfortunately that was the point where his leg strength started to go. He was definitely out of his prime as a kicker.

Gano on the other hand was 29 years old and supposedly at the top of his game considering we made him one of the top paid kickers in the league 2 years after that miss.

i dont disagree. its just weird how gano gets so much poo on this board but kasay is some beloved kicker. gano has a higher accuracy % throughout his career than kasay did. i understand kickers are better in general now and play more indoor games but i think people let nostalgia get in their way of how good kasay was. he missed ALOT of important kicks and kicked the ball out of bounds in the super bowl

You aren't wrong, in terms of overall FG% they are both in the same range career wise. Where the difference comes into play though is from further out. Kasay nailed quite a few clutch long range kicks for us. But you can't even so much as mention his name without the SB shank coming up, and honestly that's mostly fair because that was his job. That's where I'll split from you on the Gano/Kasay parallels. John has gotten plenty of heat from this fanbase.

Regardless, let's just hope Slye works out for us.

I know this.  I would fee better about Sunday if Irvin would be suiting up.  Not that I don’t feel great about BB long term.  But how is he against the run so far? With Irvin out our could see a heavy dose of Gurley being run right at Burns.

And wtf fug is up with Little.  Hurneys ass is tied to that kid.  And he is still on the protocol.  If he’s in tomorrow still he won’t be available as a backaip this weekend.

While I was lambasted this offseason, I still think the best call was for Moton at LT Williams at LG and Cody Ford at RT.

worst thing that could of happened on that kick was getting the first one off that didn't count....and making it.   He then tweaked a good kick.

We were carrying a KO specialist at the time.  Rhys Lloyd I believe?

    • I'll say 6. I don't know that we learned a whole lot about this team during preseason that we didn't already know. We didn't play the starters enough to really get a feel for what to expect. We had one good drive against the Browns, one 3-and-out and two 3-and-outs against the Texans. That's an extremely small sample size across 3 games regardless of performance. My camp/preseason takeaways: Jalen Coker might be the best WR on this team and is certainly no worse than #2. Nic Scourton is going to be a good player for us. Possibly very good. Bobby Brown was our best free agent addition and will do more to help the defense than anyone. Jack Plummer isn't an NFL QB. Not even a practice squad guy. Having anyone other than Canales and Evero call plays was a really stupid and pointless idea. Our depth is largely non-existent, especially on defense. The three areas we actually DO have depth are on the OL, in the WR corp. and at RB. I can't fathom why Dan Morgan didn't do more to upgrade ILB during the offseason. We better hope Lathan Ransom steps up at FS because if he doesn't we have a massive hole there. For all the hype surrounding Sanders and Evans, Tommy Tremble is still the best TE on the roster. I'm only slightly less enthusiastic going into the regular season than I was a month ago. I think our starters on offense are solid and we should be pretty good there unless Bryce totally regresses. On defense, we're probably bottom 3rd in the league if 100% healthy and significantly worse than that if injuries become an issue. We badly need at least two of our rookies to become high-level players early (ideally one of the pass rushers + Ransom) and at least 2 of our free agent additions (ideally Moehrig + Bobby Brown) to be significant upgrades over last year. Call me pessimistically optimistic 😆
    • 2010 was worse. Not much worse but worse.
    • Lol since 2017 the Panthers are 47-85,    Also since 2017 the Giants are 40-91-1   Lol
