What does Ron bring to this team at this point?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. The league has passed Ron by, he's a relic still holding on to the past. The last teams that have made it to the Super Bowl have all been offenses that run the spread. Fast paced, no huddle, all schemes that Cam flourishes in but Ron still wants to play slow, methodical, hard-nosed, run the ball down your throat football.

His defense always make run of the mill QB's look like All-Pro and can't touch the QB if their lives depended on it.

He's done and should've been out the door last year.

Missed Opportunities! Ron has failed to adapt and evolve with this new age of nfl football and this new nfl has passed ron, norv, and all of our coaches by the wayside. David Tepper needs to start his era of the panthers franchise and fire ron and to officially start a new era for the carolina panthers.

Is he still letting Washington call plays?  They’ve shown Ron on the sidelines several times with the defense on the field and he’s just standing there with a blank look on his face, no play sheet, no talking whatsoever.  Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if his headphones are off

When you see potential and it doesn’t quite happen and you can’t forget it out, 9 times out of 10 it’s coaching. That’s the difference between a team being able to execute effectively, move things downfield and score. It happens over and over and that’s why decently talented teams that change to better coaches can instantly change the results. Rivera’s philosophy feeds mediocrity. Some things will work and a bunch won’t. Absolutely zero rhythm.

Jason Garrett may be safe. Tepper needs to put it all on the line for Lincoln Riley.

The Rivera era is just stale at this point. Had a couple of nice seasons but overall...def a let down as a whole given the players we had.

This team does so many things that you don’t see the top level teams do. Just too many mistakes, terrible game management etc. just head scratching stuff. very frustrating

Wonder what Tepper will do during or after this year

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
