If we learned that Newton is indeed "sick of football"...

Related Note: Listening to Roman Harper on WFNZ right now.

Harper stated that around 60 to 65% of the players in any given pro locker room absolutely love the game, watch it all the time, study it, etc.

The rest treat it like an average job. When the whistle blows, they go home and don't think about football again until the next day.

I'd put Cam, Luke, McCaffrey and Olsen firmly in the "love football" camp. Heck, at this point, football might be looking to take out a restraining order against Luke.

Who falls into the other camp? Unknown.

60 to 65 is more like really 15%. Most guys in the NFL don’t watch other teams play, (outside of studying film) they didn’t grow up watching football religiously on Sundays like most hardcore fans. I’m pretty sure the average fantasy football nerd knows more about whose who than the majority of nfl locker rooms.

Dude, do you even remember the Jake Delhomme days? Fans used to bash & criticize the Ragin' Cajun nonstop. Even the racists used to loathe Jake.

Nobody was questioning his clothing choices or his commitment to football after 5 picks and a fumble against the Cardinals.

The ignorance is easy to spot as long as you're not intentionally ignoring it.

I wouldn’t blame Cam at all.

He plays a game where the league and  media hate him and judge him constantly on his personality and his intelligence as a QB

The NFL stole a SB from him after leading the Panthers to 15-1. But they couldn’t have the cocky unabashed black and confident QB win against Peyton Manning. They head hunted him all night and again in 2016 to simply punish the man and show him who’s boss.

30% of the fanbase are closet racists or Jake Delhomme /Russell Wilson’s cucks who have been itching jump on any opportunity to bash the man since he came into the league.

Hes also millionaire in the prime of his life in incredible shape. Hes been putting his body and health on the line for 9 years. He doesn’t owe anybody a damn thing.

I think you forgot "white fossilized broken-down dinosaur" when describing Manning, but couldn't agree more with the rest.

Yeh I’d be with him too. From 1997-2002 I didn’t watch one game. Actually I didn’t watch any TV at all during that time. I had no idea what the Sopranos were, barely Friends and all the others.

Being in the military and stationed overseas where I could only get scores really got me out of watching TV period really.

It was quite liberating.

Agreed. I'm watching less and less NFL football over the years. The level of officiating has a lot to do with it for me. In the past, even if the Panthers sucked I'd still watch a lot of NFL football as a casual observer. I don't know if the officiating really is that much worse or if the multitude of HD views from nearly every angle make it that much more obvious, but it's really starting to feel WWE-esque where it's just part of the storyline.

The league is in trouble. People are smarter now. Everybody is starting to see the picture. Yes the players are brutally beaten. But they are just pawns on a chess game. They don't even have a clue...

I would say that’s an attitude well and deservedly earned playing QB for Ron “I’d have taken a shot too” Rivera.

Hey tiger - I always wonder why you (and others) have a problem with that statement from Ron. I seem to recall Cam was heading in for a score and got popped just before he got in. He was a runner outside of the pocket.  I don't recall it being dirty.  Maybe it was?  Rivera was a linebacker back in the day and was taught to hit the guy with the ball before he crossed the goal line. Why does his statement bother you?  That was his job.
