This foot re-injury story does not add up....it's a smokescreen.

They mentioned this on WFNZ

Ron just brushed off a question talking as it was fine when Person asked about the ankle.  There was no visial grieving pain during the game and Cam has shown it before.

And the film as national writers have pointed out that think his should is about done.

They mentioned on WFNZ everything has compounded down Shoulder, Foot, confidence.  They think he could be about completly broke like Luck and this a smokescreen

You're wrong.  There was one play that Newton was running out of bounds and came up hobbling.  That was probably when it happened.

I saw the same play you are referencing.  He winced and hopped around once or twice, and then went back in and showed no evidence of it being a hindrance.  Players get physically tweaked in all kinds of ways in-game and shake it off and move on down the road.

No sideline examination, no x-rays, no boot, walking normally in his own street shoes.....one can only conclude it is less meaningful than the original sprain against Patriots and he should be back soon....

....unless that is it's a smokescreen.

Ron just got up and embarrassed himself at the 2.30pm press conference.

I can think of two options:

1. He really has fallen out of love with the game and the team is using the foot as cover to give him time to figure what he wants to do. It going public that he is have mental issues would not be good for him. He admitted to battling some depression last year.

2. It’s actually the shoulder and we don’t want other teams to know it’s the shoulder.

I really hope it’s option 3 and it’s just the foot, but the OP is right that foot thing doesn’t really add up. Possible he did hurt it a little but I have a hard time seeing it being hurt enough to completely prevent him from playing.

There is another option that is unthinkable to most on the Huddle.  Maybe Cam is being benched.  Maybe Ron is tired of watching Cam miss these opportunities/wide open receivers over the past 8 games or so and he keeps believing we missed and wants to see if someone else can do better.  Maybe its not injury related at all.

Or maybe it's just missed opportunities.

its curious that on espn they said earlier that he called in today to tell them his foot hurt.  he was at airport last night, not getting treatment like ron has said.  anybody know if he was even in the building today?   this is just weird.

Well that sort of goes with the shoulder in option 2
