Unsung Heroes

Not to be confused with most of you--unhung zeroes.  (If you get mad about that its probably true in your case--let it go and move on--just a joke)

Van Roten---He can pull---and the CMC 76 yard TD had a lot to do with his block.

Little---not bad.  His footwork was much better and he was not lunging.  It made me think he was

Cockrell---made some good tackles and was solid in coverage--I think he was playing nickel--did not see Elliot

Haynes and Miller: If they keep it up, we will be fine at OLB for a long time.

Bold Statements:

Action Jackson has been very solid-there are not many CBs I would trade him for.

About Rivera and Norv handing the ball to CMC once the game has been decided:  "What are you hoping to accomplish?"

Greg Olsen was reeeeally good today.

Not to overreact--He was obviously good--and this thread was for those who came in "under the radar."  But your point is one that needs its own thread.   Allen's accuracy made me realize that GO is not done, but he needs an accurate QB.

Allen may not be the answer, but if Cam can't run, he is not above average.   Today--our skill players made plays because the ball arrived on time and was where it needed to be.

It has been a while since we have seen that.

I liked the fact that the receivers were being hit in stride, led to some big yards after catch. I liked that the deep balls limited the 8 man in the box schemes we saw for the first 2 weeks as well.

I hate to say it, but even when Cam is accurate, the ball is often late which throws off the timing--We have some run after the catch players---your point is extremely important.

It's going to be a sad day when Olsen, son of Odin, retires as the greatest Panthers TE.

Little is coming along but his knowledge might be lacking at this point.

Williams was spooky bad like he was trying to help AZ at times.

Van Roten was in his element because we weren't in "must pass" type situations very often.

Jackson show a weakness in tackling, but he also feasted when AZ was in desperation passing mode.

I worry CMC will get injured every game I watch.

Allen played a near perfect game, and got DJ and Samuel involved. They have to be involved or our offense won't work.

All our pass catchers were really good.  The DJ Moore td was fantastic.

That play was very interesting because I doubt Cam makes the same read.  It was phenomenal.  Perfect pass.  It reminded me of Xclown in St. Louis back in the day---

Cam has always thrown at WRs.  Part of that may have been always having so many big bodies that almost just boxed out DBs.  But yeah, his ball placement is simply to get the ball to the WR and that is the play.  His placement rarely over his career aids YAC.

They’ve be really good since the season started. As I’ve said before they’re running good routes and getting separation.

I am surprised by Olsen though, maybe he does have a little left in the tank.

Jackson show a weakness in tackling, but he also feasted when AZ was in desperation passing mode. He is a gambler--for sure.  I would not throw his way if I were a QB.

I worry CMC will get injured every game I watch.  Running him at the end of the game was beyond stupid.

Good points.  Responses in bold

    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
    • The Jets and Bill's are statistically worse
