Let Us Take a Moment to Appreciate CMC

This dude is currently #2 in rushing yards (318) and yards from scrimmage (450) behind only Dalvin Cook (375 rushing, 454 total) , who coincidentally some people on this board were harping on us to get as well in the 2017 draft.

I've been saying the only thing he's been missing from his game is those break away home run TD plays and he showed a little hint of it in the 2017 WC playoff game vs the Saints. He's had a few times rushing where he had long rushes but got tripped up from behind several times, but he actually broke this one all the way and I was screaming my head off in my living room.

The most remarkable things I'm noticing is : this dude stays healthy, doesn't fumble, he's gotten way stronger from his first couple seasons, his YPC is rising every season and so are pretty much all of his stats in general. (3.7 rookie year, 5.0 2nd year, 5.4 this year per carry). Already 3500 yards from scrimmage and 23 total TDs not even 1/4 through his 3rd season.

IMO this last game has made me realize the team is way more succesful when CMC ISNT catching a million passes per game, when the balls being spread out. I could see him pilling up a lot more rushing yards this year but his receiving going down to 400-600, and I don't mind that at all.

Dalvin is a stud when he's healthy.

Key words being "when he's healthy". He'll get dinged up eventually.

But I agree, CMC is a stud to begin with.

I actually think his best trait is his field vision.

The ability to see the field and pick his spots was what made Emmitt Smith great more so then his physical talents. I believe that's going to be true of McCaffrey as well.

Speaking of his vision, check out how far in advance CMC makes the cut that sets up the touchdown. He sets up the defender at least seven yards in advance. The defender isn’t even on the screen yet.

Take away that long run yesterday and he averaged only 3.3 yds. per carry on the ground.  He's more valuable catching poo passes out of the backfield.

Yah we should switch him to slot receiver and find a real rb lol.  Btw long runs count too

But you can't, bc he did. You fuggin reprobate. Let's us enjoy our little wins and get the heck off the board if you ain't about that life.

Also, factoring in every touch Including receptions without the big run he averaged well over 5 yards per touch.

You tard.

    • Yeah this kind of discussion really seems to be from people that dont understand the business of football.    There is never a negotiation that is "well you're the 3rd best LT / DE / QB in football so we will only pay you the 3rd most"   Remember JC Horn, he was the highest paid CB in football for like 5 minutes, now he's is like #5. This offseason he will be #15. No point stressing about this.
    • It’s really not an overpay, if he hits the FA market he will get more and as always, it will look like a deal in 2 seasons. Look at Brian Burns, his contract looks fine now and he’s top 3 in the league in sacks. Some people acted like our team would never financially recover if we gave him that contract and now it looks like a bargain. Meanwhile we used that money on free agents on the line who really haven’t paid off for us and wish we had someone with 13 sacks. You never let home Horne proven talent walk unless it’s absolutely necessary and LT is never a position that you play around with.
    • The difference between a turnover and not a turnover actually does matter.
