Current line is -4 pt dogs. Can we win this game? My fear is their offense against our soft zone BS we played in the first half.

Watsion and Hopkins are deadly combo, but now they have multiple receiving threats.

Absolutely on the soft coverage. I'm hoping somehow, someway somebody will look at the AZ tape and correct it. Side note : I'll also pray that Jackson learns how to wrap up on tackles and Reid learns how tackle, all before Sunday.

What scares me is that JJ Watt has the freedom to move about the line, looking for the weak link and then picking that as his spot.  So.....Is Williams still playing??  Watt against Williams, LOL

Watt almost always plays on the left side vs RG/RT.  I wouldn’t expect him to line up vs LT more than a handful of times.

I hope so.  i just remember him saying on TV that he has freedom to move about as he wishes and tries to find the weakest link in the O line and tends to work that person over.

Our D is top 5 in total defense, Texans don’t really have a running threat so we should be able to make them one dimensional. Their o-line isn’t that good(reference Cardinals) so we should dominate there. Problem is keeping Watson from running for 100 yards.

Allen is going to see a much better defense this week. If he can limit mistakes and make the throws when they’re available I think we’ll be fine. CMC should have another big day.

Special Teams has been a plus so far. Waiting for Ray Ray to run one back

Yes, we can win this game

Mercilus is the guy we gotta block.  He has 4 sacks and 3 FFs in their 3 games, vs 2/0 for Watt.

He is mercilus.

This place is gonna be very interesting come next monday if we lose and the same team or *players* dont look like they did this past sunday.

The thing I believe that keeps getting lost is not whether the team wins or loses and specific game, but instead, how does the team LOOK while playing the game.

Last Sunday we "looked" like a team with fire, energy and attitude.  Our team played with high effort, and an apparent desire to win.

Against the Rams and the Bucs, we "looked" lethargic and uninspired, despite the fact we were in both of those games with a chance.

That's what I want to see from our guys, high motor and a desire to win.  It seems clear we have the talent, if we can just find the energy and motivation we can be very good.

Yes, we're top 5 in yards allowed, but interestingly we are WAY down (bottom half) in scoring defense.  Tells me that we're giving up WAY too many short fields.

    • I am too. Frank became completely disinterested in the HC job after the draft.
    • down 24 and we get our first possession in the 3rd and what happens?  run TE checkdown TE checkdown run run run RB checkdown TE checkdown run TE checkdown incomplete TE checkdown run now on the 4 yard line- Renfrow TD and POOF!  3rd quarter is over.  That's not a team even trying to get back into the game in reality.  That's just the Panthers taking freebies to make it look respectable in the end and guess what? Bryce gets to pad on 6/7 to his stat line in exchange for making the 3rd quarter disappear.  Not sure the hyper focus on the depth of the corners.  Cardinals were going to simply drop and allow the easy stuff underneath.  Which they did.  Did they play a random short yardage play a little different? Sure.  That doesn't' mean they weren't just letting the Panthers overall eat clock to bring the game to an end.  The Cards strategy was fine on D.  You just don't generally see teams implement it as early as they did but they were up pretty big.  It's the other units for the Cards that fugged the plan up.  again, it's 3 drives,  the ONE in the 3rd quarter and only drive of the entire quarter and the 2 to open the 4th.  Cardinals gave Bryce stuff in exchange for clock  (and the result was slow long drives eating the clock).  The rest of the game? They didn't.  The rest of the game outside of those 3 drives the Cards weren't in garbage allowance mode and Bryce stunk
    • But a serious question is, does he not see a guy come open because he misses seeing them on the field, which happens to every QB, or, is his vision blocked by the wide bodies in front of him instead of the helmets other QBs experience? For instance missing a wide open Chuba. Did he not see him or could he literally not see him? I tend to think the latter is a far bigger problem than we're being led to believe it is.
