Is McCaffrey already our best non-QB offensive player in franchise history?

Steve Smith has a lot of top notch seasons under his belt to hold the longevity.

But CMC is looking a lot like my all time favorite player, Ladainian Tomlinson, at this pace. And if he wins an MVP in this pass heavy, QB loving league, then yes. It’ll be the greatest season for a Panther, offensive or defensive imo. Positional players just don’t win MVPs these days. If he does... that means he will have had one of the all time greatest seasons for a RB ever

Ponder this... CMC could easily lead the league in rushing yards while also leading our team in receiving yards while also have more TDs than our QBs... what in the absolute fug? Unreal.

Smitty is my favorite player of all time. But if CMc keeps this up, he will be.  Cam is obviously in the conversation too. Carrying the offense kicking and screaming for 8 years with a SB and MVP throwing to Ginn and that crew along the way.

Does he have the potential to be?? Absolutely

 

Give it 5-7 more years (God willing) some pro-bowls, all-pros and than come talk to me

Not forgotten at all. One of my all time favorites and a legit HOFer. But despite how great he was (and he was unbelievably great. The definition of ‘keep pounding’) he was never an MVP candidate. If CMC continues his pace he will have the greatest season of any player in the history of the league. By a lot. It’s actually not even close if he continues this pace that it will go down as the greatest season for a positional player ever. 

The real question is will his body hold up to continue this pace with this current workload?

Mccaffrey is largely producing cause he has a coach that’s obsessed with using him. Steve Smith produced in spite of his coach and teammates.

 

You put Smith with an above average QB and theirs no doubt in my mind he would be second only to Rice

Cmc has a whole 2-3 years in the league and u saying hes the best ever? Come on.. there have been years where Smith was undoubtedly the best wr in the league. Has cmc ever been undoubtedly the best rb? No. Even now if you say he is I point to saquan and you cant say hes better than him.if we comparing him to smitty who has won wr of the year, won playoff games and won the rarely ever done triple crown at wr and you want to throw that all vs a guy who been doing good 2-3 years? You guys have went cmc crazy...
