You can't absolutely assume he's gonna continue at that pace and never improve though.

If you wanna assume that, then you also have to assume he'll continue to throw zero interceptions, which would be a huge stretch.

I am not assuming anything. I gave him projections based on what he has done so far. I do not believe he will never throw an INT and I don't believe he is going to fumble every game. But you are what your stats say you are. That is how people get paid in the NFL.

Projecting is a form of assumption.

And one quick thing, not necessarily related to this thread but something I've seen in the general debate...

Can we stop treating the term "game manager" as if it were an insult?

Every quarterback is a "game manager" and being proficient at it is a damn good skill to have.

If you want to say a guy is nothing special, just say that. But "game manager" should not be synonymous with "nothing special".

When I call him “game manager” I don’t mean it as an insult, I’m just calling what I see. He’s being asked to not lose games, don’t make horrible mistakes. He’s not being asked to be a superstar.

Tom Brady is the most "game manager" quarterback in the league.

I used the wrong word. I don't personally believe he will achieve these stats. He is on pace for what I listed above. If you want me to actually attempt to predict where I think he will finish for stats I can make that a separate post. If the season ended today, very few, if any, teams would come calling the Panthers to see if Allen is available. He started super hot against one of the worst passing defense teams in the NFL who get abused by tight ends. Just because I don't believe he could pass for 4 touchdowns every game doesn't mean if I was writing up a post about what he is on pace I can ignore it. I just would post the stats. There were a lot of posters who said Allen would fix the fumbling issue after the first game. "It will be focus for him to fix in practice". Then he fumbled some more in the Houston game. Then he fumbled some more in this game.

I'm not a big fan of any sort of projection, but particularly so when it's a guy who's only playing his fourth game.

We don't know what he is yet because he isn't yet who he's going to be.

What he will ultimately become could be better, could be worse. We don't know.

of all the things a QB could do to practice in the offseason, id think working on not fumbling is way down on the list (initially). Its also hard to simulate 250-300 pound freaks of nature coming at you trying to create a turnover

now that it IS an issue, i suspect there are things that could be done to prepare for and prevent the fumbles.  I think it will get cleaned up quite easily

btw, where the fug is @SIGCHI222??

so many old school posters dont post anymore and it makes me sad.

This place largely turning into a troll pit has driven away a lot of good long-time posters.

Then what was the point of this thread and showing numbers of players that aren't Kyle Allen?

Discussion, and perspective.

I'm not in either camp because I still think he's an unknown, but I do think people in general need a better framework for discussing the topic.

Was certainly a different crew.

On top of some of the posters these days coming off as 14 year old fans, I'm guessing a lot of the old guys just have too much going on in life.

I miss Panthro and Scrum.
