How can CMC be MVP of the NFL when the Panthers have a bottom tier offense in every ranking or metric.

When Cam won MVP, the Panthers had the top ranked offensive in the entire NFL.  I believe we scored the most points in the entire NFL that year.

For whatever worth our 5-3 record is, it's because we have the 3rd rank passing defense and most sacks in the NFL this year.  Our secondary deserves MVP more than CMC.

I don't dispute CMC is putting up amazing stats for a rb, but if it were having an MVP level impact, we wouldn't have such a poorly ranked offense.

The run game is ranked 5th - hardly "bottom tier in every metric".

Adrian Peterson was MVP in 2012 with the Vikings and their record was only 10-6 so I don't think you need a top ranked offense to be MVP.

The passing defense is ranked 5 but the running defense is ranked 32 - dead last. Not sure I would give them the MVP award based upon those numbers.

I would think that with a QB as weak as you and others imply, opposing defenses would simply stack the box and sell out to stop the run - and yet the Panthers still have the 5th best running game in the league. Seems to me he is the only reason we are winning and ,as such, is deserving of being mentioned in the MVP discussions.

Has there ever been an NFL MVP from a bad offense, or even a mediocre offense?

Has there ever been someone who finished in the top 3 for MVP from a bad offense?

It's doubtful the Panthers even make the playoffs.

People are holding CMC to some ridiculously low standard because its bright, novel, and shiny for them to watch a white guy excel as a running back.

You must hate Cmc your going to extreme lvls to prove he's not MVP.

Adrian Peterson led the Vikings to the best rushing attack in the NFL with Christian Ponder as the QB for the entire season

And he was MVP that year. So if its fine for Peterson, why wouldn't it be for CMC.

We're going to be in the race for the #1 overall pick with a great defense that leads the NFL in sacks and turnovers, and is third in passing defense?

Really?  You could put Teb*ow behind center with this defense and we'd be 3-5.

Dolphins/Bengals/Jets have abysmal defenses.

People really twisting here.

Is it time to ban him yet?

Uh because Peterson led the Vikings to the best rushing attack in the NFL and a good offense

Whereas CMC is leading the Panthers to a mediocre ranked rushing offense and a poor overall offense

mediocre mean middle which with 32 teams is 16. We are 7th which is top 10.  If you are going to keep running down CMC, at least be accurate on something....Anything.....
