Will Grier would have hit jarius

When you have a QB not getting the job done, it is pretty natural to want the next guy to come in.

Hell, how many people were screaming for Ron to sit Cam last year when it was painfully obvious he was playing hurt and it was impacting his play?

Same thing minus the injuries at the moment. Allen isn't getting it done, he isn't completely to blame but at this point why not see Grier?

Ghosts. Our Oline is trash. Grier would be ok for half a game then he would start hearing ghosts. We are done, until our lines are fixed we are done, does it matter who drives the bus off the cliff?

There were a couple of plays where Allen braced himself like he thought he was about to get hit with no one really near him. It's a concerning, if understandable, behavior to see.

Also, in regards to the final play, young quarterbacks will be inconsistent, game to game and series to series. They also tend to struggle in the tight red zone. We've seen both issues out of Allen this year. That isn't to make excuse  -- he's gotta make that read and throw -- but to cast doubt on the notion that another young QB, one with even less game experience than Allen, would have surely made the read and the throw.

Edit to add: I also agree we need to see Will Grier in game action before this season is over.

Also, why the heck was Kyle pump faking? They were coming regardless.

I was sooooo looking forward to eating some crow on Kyle Allen, just then he started to fall apart.

Staring down receivers missing the whole other side of the field with a wide open receiver for the win!?

The oline did give him time at times, I saw it, he's letting the pressure get into his head. A lot of missed opportunities on his part.

Yet again, the backup QB is teh savior. Ron isn't stupid. Once we're out of playoff contention you'll see Grier.

You can't keep a high draft pick on the bench when a guy in front of him implodes every week. A fumble every week. Now a int at the wrong time every week.

bet you he does, sorry Chuck but it's true. Grier's strength is Allen's weakness: a deep ball

@Carl Spackler   @mjligon  Do you guys ever watch players or do your own research? It’s hilarious to see people like you try to throw your own brown $hiat on the wall in hope that it’ll stick. Just bc Allen is an average back up QB and has proved to be one, you guys suddenly want the next guy on the depth chart to start. So then you dummies will try to believe whatever you guys want to imagine.  Everyone knew that Grier had a puss arm at WV except Panthers joe blow fans like you. Grier suck and we will be drafting a QB in the 1st round if one is available. Golden Boy Jimmy Clausen is better than Grier.

Will Grier:
Weaknesses

  • Average arm talent

Kyle Allen:
ANALYSIS

STRENGTHS: There’s a reason why he was a top recruit coming out of high school: his arm. Allenpossesses a strong arm and is capable of making any throw. He made a number of throws that were put where only his receiver could get it, including many deep shots placed perfectly. His arm strength also allows him to make off balance throws when pressure is in his face.

The NFCS is tough. Headed by NO:poison: ATL:poo: and us.

New Orleans (blah) has been beasting. They're beating everybody not just us. Atlanta rises up every once in a while. Carolina has had relative success. NFC Championships etc.

We play NO well at full strength but we didn't get Teddy Bridgewater to back up Cam. Mistake. If you want to "win" this year. Maybe they really didn't...

    • I guess so. Don't think I was involved with previous discussions.  Tepper is one of the newest owners in the NFL. Dan is going into his 3rd season as a GM - ever. Dave is going into his 3rd season as a HC - ever. Before becoming a HC, he was an OC/playcaller for one season total. Idzik is about to go into his 1st year as a play caller - ever. WRs are rookies, sophomores and 3rd year guys - though the experienced 3rd year guys are XL and Coker (who has missed a ton of games). TEs are guys going into their 2nd and 3rd seasons, and Tommy Tremble - though Sanders has missed a ton of games. QB has played 3 years. Chuba is an experienced RB, but Brooks and Etienne have taken very little snaps at the position. O-line is more experienced vets with some talent - which is HUGE. Need them to stay healthy. I mean the offense is very young in every aspect except O-line. You see it differently?
    • I said this ALL last season and will say it again this year. Our record means diddly squat this year, I don't care if we have 0 wins or 17 wins, I only care about one thing and one thing only. Bryce proves without a shadow of a doubt that he IS or ISN'T our long term solution at QB. It's the only thing that matters for the same reason it sucks that this is the same thing as last year.  This needs to be determined, and if they can't determine it, then it's still telling the team the answer, just not the one they want to hear. As right now we're in the ultimate QB purgatory, a position that dooms franchises for years.  Just look at a team like the Cardinals, who extended a better QB and it still screwed them over and haven't had a contending team in a long time. People get too caught up on wins and losses when evaluating players, particularly QBs.  When people look at the final record and use that as a reason to want to extend a QB or not is just a fools errand.  If we had lost 2-3 more games last year because we didn't make a last second FG, I genuinely wonder if we would have just moved on from Bryce this offseason (like we should have been doing anyways IMHO).
