Kyle Allen is dead last in PFF's QB Rankings

Yeah as much as Kyle's play has sucked, I damn sure ain't trying to watch Wills growing pains right now.

Why not?    Literally nothing to lose.    This season is completely over.     If Will comes in and sucks, we get a better draft pick and see what he has.   If he comes in and lights it up, we know what we have.     There is no reason to not play him.

Or maybe that's just what he is. Good sometimes and bad others. Inconsistent

i was thinking yesterday he's starting to remind me of mariotta.   some games its like WOW we've really got something, others its head scratching and mind numbing.   i def don't want to take 5 years to make a decision like tn did. i'd rather take a qb in the 1st round and start securing the interior of the line in the middle rounds and see what happens.  i also don't wanna see marty get the fever and decide we're a few players away from a SB and mortgage our future for it, again.

He has shown enough to allow him to compete for the job though. He could make a big jump this off-season or he could crash and burn. Who knows.

Or, better yet, we could hire some guys to block for him.  That'd be a new turn of events.

Jesus you guys are fickle.

You can really tell who became a fan after Cam got here and who has no idea what actual terribly consistent QB play looks like.

I get it, we've been spoiled with Cam and his greatness, but this kid is all of 23 years old. He CAN get better. Younger players tend to do that. Cumulatively his stats are very similar to the 3rd overall pick last year Sam Darnold and Jets fans are THRILLED to have him for the future:

Am I saying Kyle Allen is the future of the franchise? No. Should you guys cut the kid some slack? Jesus yes. Not every good/decent QB wins rookie of the year, is a dual threat and once in a generation athlete. Some take time to develop. If nothing else, the kid looks like a solid backup that gives you a good chance to win if your starter gets hurt.

Have some perspective and chill, damn.

Not long ago Sam Darnold had a game so bad he admitted he was seeing ghosts out there on the field. But even he was able to muster enough "grit" to lead his team to a win over a hapless 2 win Washington team.

Raise the bar dudes. Stop trying to convince yourselves why only 5 wins is actually a good thing.

I always tell people that Jamies Winston gets murdered for being a turnover machine, even though he has games where he looks like he can be an elite guy. There are no moral victories in the NFL, especially at the QB position where guys like Foles can be earning $88m/4 years.
