Hurney has never drafted a contract that was not approved by those above him. He is a puppet in that regard. He does have great ability to spot talent, it seems. If he is willing to stay on in a subsidiary role, why not?

Even if you like Shaq and want to keep him, I don't know why you don't wait until you have a coach and know what kind of defense he wants before spending this money.
