This is real bad. I searched and it was Jamarcus Russell, Mettenberger, Matt Flynn first three otb.

Matt Flynn might be the best in the NFL out of that school. And that's not saying much LOL

So what you searched Stanford tailbacks and saw Toby Gerhart and Tyler Gaffney did you come to the same conclusion about Christian McCaffrey? I understand history but it’s a bit absurd sometimes.  Not advocating for this guy but don’t want to overlook him based on a ridiculous stereotype.

Herbert screams bust IMO.

Watching him most of last year, I think he has too much to offer.  He would have easily been the 1st QB taken if he declared last season.  These guys all seem to have the winning gene, the size, the arms, the agility, the mobility.  I like them all.

At this point I wouldn't mind trading up to #1 to guarantee getting him. It'd take a LOT, but to secure another franchise QB, would it not be worth it?

He is from Ohio and there is virtually no way we can get that pick from Cincy.

Burrow will be the #1 player off the board and I am happy about it. Not sold on this kid at all. Ja'Marr Chase is the best WR in the country. And to me, when I watch the games, its not close. Justin Jefferson is also a stud and a finalist for the Biletnikoff award. The two of them will tell you if not for injury that Terrace Marshall JR is the most talented of the trio. 10 of his 37 catches were for TDs. The other two WRs went over 1200 yards and 10 TDS as well. Actually, Chase leads the country in TDs at WR and yards.

Their running back, Clyde Edwards-Helaire has 1300 rushing yards on 6.5 a carry.

Their return game? Chase does the returning.

Their defense? They have a true freshman corner with 6 INTs and he is 1 behind the country leader in passes defensed.

LSU has a scheme right now. Burrow is a good QB, but he isn't great. Great QBs can succeed regardless of the offense they are running. He completed less than 60% of his passes last year. He is completing 20% more attempts this season. Why? New offensive coordinator with absolute slam dunk first round talent all around him.

Did you watch the UGA game last night? There were multiple plays where Burrow had OVEN 7 SECONDS before he had to throw the ball. Very few completions were air yards and a tackle. The play calling is designed to get the ball to the trio of WRs and let them make guys miss. And they do with ease.

Joe Burrow isn't going to have 7 seconds to throw in the NFL and he isn't going to have three wide receivers on his team that are better than the opposing teams #1 corner every single week. Burrow is also only 3 months younger than a guy like Kyle Allen. I dislike Kyle Allen as a QB1 but its hard for me to think he wouldn't kill it in that LSU offense this year if he was their starter.

And you know what we don't have in Carolina? Three good wide receivers or an offensive line to protect him. I don't want a QB this year in the draft at all. We will just get him killed and we will be looking for another new one at that point in 2023. Build a better team this year and go for a QB next year.

kyle allen was too shitty for the easiest qb system in the country. burrow is dominating in a pro style offense against the best defenses in the country. how on earth does he remind you of kyle allen???

i'll remind you next year at this time...

Then you don't read your own posts as you type them.

Debunk anything I wrote above. Explain to me how a QB magically betters his completion % by 20% in one season. Explain how he had over 7 seconds to throw on multiple plays last night. Explain how he isn't surrounded with some of the best talent in the country. Explain how the Carolina Panthers would be able to protect and develop him. You can't even debate most of what I wrote. Its factually accurate.

    • I would say that he's pulling things out of his ass to get people to visit his site.
    • Yep. I was hoping for and calling for a day three guy. But I didn’t research the position to say if we should or should‘t have jumped at a particular guy at a particular spot.    And everything I read said it was a poor draft for RBs depth wise. I guess when Seattle takes a backup RB in the 1st, that kind of backs that up.    I definitely think we should keep 4 running backs and if King can play well enough then keep him too.    I believe I heard Canales say we are a running team (talking about drafting a WR he will be needing to block as well as catch). Well if we are gonna be a running team by identity we don’t need to stock the WR room to overflowing. If one room has to sacrifice, it should not be the RB room given our circumstances.
    • If there's a pattern I'm definitely picking up from Dan and company is a philosophy of making trades where we try not to sacrifice the number of draft picks we have by day's end. In other words, we're not giving up three picks for one, or giving up a future pick to make a pick today. And even if we give up something at the start, we make trades later to make up for that initial loss. Here's how it stacked up for 2026: How we started: 19, 51, 83, 119, 158, 159, 200 How we ended: 19, 49, 83, 129, 144, 151, 227 (no future picks sacrificed) Ultimately, we moved up two spots in the second to ensure we got someone we coveted, gave up a few spots for our fourth round pick, but then had better picks in the 5th (and got really good value out of them), and had a worse 7th rounder which isn't that big of a loss anyways.  At this point, we can question who they draft, but they're pretty good maneuvering across the draft board.
