He got burnt because Ryan was able to load up and throw deep, if the blitz makes it home Ryan doesn’t have time to load up and chunk it downfield, stupid play call regardless of donte’s poor execution that’s what everyone is missing here

If Donte wasn't a 12 lb bag of suck and could cover his guy instead of letting him run right by him, he could have had an easy INT.

Ok lol how about putting guys in the best position to succeed ?

why are you running plays that weren’t even practice the week of ?

I mean I get on Rivera’s ass but damn that was just idiotic play calling reminiscing the Pittsburgh game last year

Donte gets tuned around so often like he's lost at times.  When the ball is in the air, it's like he panics...either flailing his arms around in hopes of a PU or just tackling the WR giving up the PI.  As a 4.2 guy, his play speed is much slower.  You would think he could close gaps quicker, but he can't.

Most of y’all aren't seeing the big picture. He’s right. They called an all out blitz at the 7 fuging yard line and Ryan had almost 6-7 seconds to air it out. He was 1 on 1 50ish yards down the field. Not many corners could’ve hung with anyone that long let alone someone there’s no tape on or expectation to catch a ball on a play like that. You guys are so quick to call out a guy like him but let an Olsen or a Kuechly slide on a ‘bad play” what a joke.

For someone that pride himself on his speed, he needs to concentrate more his technique.  That ball hung up in the air seemingly forever.  The fact that he was lost on the play and got burned by a nobody, then wants to call out the coaches is a complete joke.

I don't really mind the all out blitz call.  Losing record with very small shot at the playoffs, coach got fired, behind in the game, with almost no offensive spark.  No harm in gambling there.  Jackson fell down trying to tackle the guy, so he should probably not talk to much.

Donte is completely right, calling a zero blitz and leaving him in man coverage was a bad call.   Donte subconsciously doesn't even trust himself.

    • And to think we could have traded burns, a pass rusher much worse than Parsons, for almost the same as Parsons... God we blew that chance
    • Would have probably just been better to go back in time and pick Parsons instead of Horn TBH
    • Heres my take on this. I hate to quote Joe Person and Daviance Newston, but there were reports that AT was not getting the same reps as last year. Now you can look at it a couple ways- Panthers know what AT bring and want to grow young WRs or they thought father time had caught AT enough to limit reps(thus faze him slowly out). Fact is AT hated that 2 win season and reports he asked or didn't want to be on the Panthers during the trade deadline last year..... just Panthers didn't care about a 2027 7th in return for BYs safety blanket.   I look at this as the Panthers just scored 23 scores in PS and they know AT wants no part of what could be anouther bad losing 2 or 5 win season. So go with the young ones and flip him back home for the value of a 4th. He's the oldest WR in the league, getting anything above coffee filters is a win.  The next 6 games will show if the Panthers were right or wrong.....
