Belicheat back at it

Shocker

Theoretically speaking, to be “back at” something, wouldn’t said entity have to at one point or another first pause what they are doing in order to resume at a later point?

Honestly, I don’t think they ever stopped cheating even for a second. Between the original Spygate, Deflategate, the visiting teams’ sideline headsets at Gillette frequently and mysteriously malfunctioning over the last two decades, and now Spygate 2.0? Yeeeeaaaaaah, don’t think they ever stopped.

I’m a lifelong Patriots hater like everyone that isn’t a fan.

at the same time, I would say this seems to be a rush to judgement by many who are trying to vindicate themselves for being perennial losers.

the crew did have a series about scouting, went to a press box with media and team executives to film a 1-11 team,...

Thats like driving a van labeled Bank Robbers Incorporated to a bank, getting out in front of the Police station and walking casually to the bank waving at everyone to rob it...

Come on man,...

While I agree we shouldn't rush to judgment I also can recognize that once is happenstance, twice is a coincidence and three times is a well defined pattern.

i was listening to one of the radio talk shows and there were 2 men on top of a building near where the cowboys practice filming the week before that game.  they haven't stopped.  i hope this screws mcd out of a coaching job

Wingo had a great point this morning, they one thing the NFL can't do this time is burn the tapes (well, its 2019, so SD cards). They have to render their judgements and then release the tape.

If it, as alleged, an entire quarter filming the Bengals sidelines, that would be quite suspicious.

This is from a 2015 article on Business Insider detailing the original Spygate "Soon, advanced scouts would be sent to the games of upcoming Patriots' opponents to film the play signals. The scouts would go undercover as media members, with media credentials listed under "Patriots TV" or "Kraft Productions" and were prepared with excuses of what to say they were filming if security asked."

That sounds eerily similar to what's being discussed.

    • From Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/nutshellsportz.bsky.social/post/3mo3rkrcezs2e  A look at Run Threat Rate across the NFL Run Threat Rate is the percentage of plays where a team either runs the ball or uses play action. This compares each team’s rate when leading or tied versus when trailing to show how much they abandon the run when playing from behind.
    • That's the current dilemma on both parties at the moment. If Ickey comes back too soon, he won't be 100% and his play will suffer. Leading to a potential decrease in his contract. If Ickey is unable to play and sits the entire 2026 season, his contract will still take the same hit since it tells all 32 team that he is not fully recovered. On the Panthers side, I'm sure they would want to keep Ickey if he is fully recovered but he is obviously in a contract year. They don't want to re-sign him to a massive deal since it be too risky and they know if Ickey is able to return to form.  Best case scenario, the Panthers wants to offer Ickey a 1-2 year heavily incentive based prove it deal. However, Ickey would most likely decline the offer and test the market as  another team can come in and offer Ickey a better deal if they are desperate enough for O-line help.
    • They have been giving him a lot of snaps at RT to give TMo some relief in camp. I think that will continue for the time being.
