Curtis Samuel is not killing drives

The next time somebody tries to tell you that Curtis Samuel is part of the problem, do a little post history browsing. If you see them propping up Kyle Allen and/or whining about Shaq/Reid/Bradberry, just put that user on ignore. They're not interested in facts.

anyone that judges a player based on the knucklehead posters around here deserves what they get.  Maybe I am missing something, but are you posting that people should not judge a player based on what x poster here says about them? Like, OMG, like...who does that? Becky...look at her butt

This team used Cam's ability as a "running" QB ( it means...hes black and big and strong) as a way to neglect the OL.  People have been banned for being this honest.

Case in point.

CS's problem is our perception of him.  We want to see him as the next Steve Smith / Muhsin Muhammed.  He's not.  CS is Ted Ginn.  Full stop.

Targeted air yards 15.1 vs 15.5 . . . catch percentage 51 vs 54 . . . cushion 6 vs 7 . . . the list goes on.  Curtis Samuel is Ted Ginn.

Curtis Samuel is one of the softest WRs on the field on game day. That is his biggest problem.

I don't care all that much for Kyle Allen, and like the things that Shaq, Bradberry, and Reid (national hero) do most of the time, and I'd still say what I said in the original sentence to Curtis' face.

He shies away from contact 99% of the time, body catches and gets alligator arms when balls are catchable, and his biggest asset is his speed, which does very little for him in this offense.

He needs to toughen up, take some hits, and not look to hug the sideline any time he gets the ball near him.

Yeah I’m not sure what his deal is this year. Because in the past he definitely did not shy away from contact and wasn’t afraid to put his body out there to make a catch (hence the broken foot).

I can't agree with that there being he was a RB in College.  That characteristic just can't stick with someone who's use to getting tackled by 300lb linemen.  I think if Cam were healthy this year, we'd have seen Curtis get a better chance.

It’s noticeable this year. Prior years no.

Curtis Samuel is the WR2 on a team that lost its starting QB, has no offensive line and has been playing basically a rookie backup QB.

It's easy for some basement dwelling hot-taker to call him trash... they don't have to look at or even understand the situation.

I give @Forty-Eight as an example.

Just wait until we draft a Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb, Henry Ruggs, or Tee Higgins in the 1st or 2nd. Samuel will then be the 4th WR behind Wright. Y’all can love him or suck him all y’all really want. The fact is Samuel won’t be getting a second contract from this team.

In reality that tells you all you need to know about how bad the Oline is. We need new trenches on both sides. I think Samuels problem is more understanding the game than catching the ball. He runs way to many sloppy routes and doesn't understand where to be too much. Moore on the other hand has done really well with that.

    • Nobody on the huddle is saying we have an elite group offensively across the board. They aren't great. They're young. If you are expecting someone to agree with your position of blaming everyone around Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career you are going to be left holding the bag save for a handful of people who act like they are paid to defend his honor. Bryce Young is not a guy who has had to claw and fight his way into starting jobs in football. He's had the best to work with and been gifted roles since he was a teenager. The Panthers have one of the youngest rosters in the league and with us needing an infusion of young defensive talent in the upcoming draft we're only going to get younger. We need a QB who possesses the ability to elevate those around him. If you can't agree with me on that then there's nothing further to discuss.
    • All Bryce and the Panthers had to do was split with the Saints and a rookie QB. The bar was so low. They even had a whole bye week to prepare. The time for singing kumbaya was before that game. Anyone still talking about Bryce earning a second contract 43 games into his career is living a fantasy. He might get one from the Tepper owned Panthers but he's damn sure not earned it.
