You still didn’t answer my question. I get your concerns but it seems like Tepper has a plan. I mean this dude knows how to run a business. I’m not too concerned as long as Marty isn’t the end all be all for drafting, contracts and roster building.

Oh, I have no idea.  My preference would have been to fire Marty after the draft last year, hire a good GM and let him make the call on Ron staying for a prove it year, or just cutting bait and hiring is own guy.  Then we would likely have our GM in place already and prepared to interview coaches the moment they come available.

By keeping them both, we find ourselves in a bad situation.

Other than owners that inherited their teams, just about every owner left is a highly successful businessman.

Quite a few of those businessmen have consistently demonstrated an inability to field competitive football teams.

Hopefully, Tepper doesn't turn out to be one of them.

I dont disagree. Last year most of us wanted both gone. But this is where we are which was the point of my posts

Cam will hold out if tagged. You can quote me on that.

I like it that you are willing to get on the record --- very few will do so.

I don't think the situation will ever get to a point where the team wants to exercise the tag....

....if Cam is smart and plays out the last year of his deal (as he is contractually obligated to do) and balls out --- Tepper will sign him to a great deal, it won't get to a tag situation.

Cam gave his word and has an obligation, and I believe he will live up to said obligation.

Note:  I was simply pointing out the fallacy of the "he'll go where the money is" thesis --- he doesn't have that option.

    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
