That LA defense certainly under performed with the talent they have.

I wouldn't be upset of the HC wanted him but forcing staff on a candidate is going to limit who wants to coach here.

He's formulated some great defenses and, as stated above, knows how to coach up talent.  

I would assume any DC would love to have the best linebacker in the league on his squad.  Having Luke has to be a positive when picking a team.

I think with all of the talent that the Rams handed him, he underachieved.  He's definitely put out some damn good defenses over the years.  Heck, we saw first hand how good his Denver defense was.  I'm not sure what went wrong with the Rams though.  They literally gave him a stacked deck and it was a roller coaster ride.  Teams dropped (3) 40 burgers on him (48 by Jameis Winston but the Suh fumble return made the score 55).  Last year was (2) 40 burgers and 5 teams scored 30+.  That's not good.

Some guys don't want to retire, working is what they want to do every day.  It's a great position to be in that you love your job that much.
