Rhule might equal Rhebuild

Yes it does. We always thought instead of Rivera's dinosaur offense Cam would thrive in a college type offense and now we hire a college coach. It's for Cam.

Rhule hire is accommodating Cam Newton. You're wrong if you think otherwise.

Where is Cams extension if that is the case?

I wish I had seen this thread.

This to me signals a full rebuild as well.  I welcome it.

I do too, but I have no illusions about the next few years.

Won't be any shock if they suck...a lot.

People would be wise to be patient, but...yeah, nevermind.

Word was Rhule wanted pretty significant control if he was hired. Obviously Tepper agreed to that.

And what's he known for?

Rebuilding bad programs from the ground up.

This definitely isn't a "win now" hire. It looks more like a "strap in for the long haul" type of choice. Tepper had expressed before the process even started that it might take "a period of losing" in order to create a perennial winner. He also acknowledged that it takes college coaches time to adjust to the NFL. Seeing as Rhule was given a seven year contract, it sounds like he's willing to give him significant time.

Basically, if you're expecting a quick turnaround, you might not wanna hold your breath.

Tepper used the word "might".  He's hedging his bets.  Setting the bar low.

What kind of funds did he manage again?

To quote our old buddy Foxy, it is what it is...

Or to quote early Ron.... it is what it is is no more...

Regardless, it is obvious a culture change was needed in the worst kind of way.

I have zero expectations for next season.

I am excited by the Rhule hire

I love the Panthers, and as much as I hate the idea of another 2010, I'm also a realist who objectively sees a roster with major holes.

I would love to be able to compete without a rebuild next year, but I'm mentally prepared for that possibility.

If an awful rebuild year nets us either say Trevor Lawrence if Cam departs or cannot stay healthy, or better yet, our choice of stud Left tackles to protect Cam's blindside in the second half of his career assuming we don't get one this year, or even some D line monster to shut down the run and keep blockers off Luke, I can live with those things for the same reasons you can.

So long as the team is making the right decisions, I'm usually pretty happy....and patient.

When we make obvious dumb decision after dumb decision, I get frustrated, quickly.

Hopefully this is the end of Hurney, I can't imagine that Rhule would be able to get along with someone that obviously doesn't know and understand football enough to be in his role.
