Give me Joe Brady and Cam thanks. I would love to have Burrows but we can't trade our entire draft for him and that's what it would take.

Bring in Burrows before the pieces are in place and he becomes the next David Carr.  He needs a pocket.  He needs a lead.  We need an OL and a defense.

If I was asked to trade our draft and Cam to Cincy, We would save $21m.  Then Olsen is gone--another $10m or so.  Point?  Can we make up the lost picks (most of our picks are busts after round 1 anyway) in free agency?  Overall, we would have about $60m in cap room.

Yep you make that trade.

If you think Burrow’s is the next great QB then the draft capital being traded away is worth it. You could easily spend the next 5 years (or more) and a lot more picks searching for that guy anyways.

Any other position I’d say no but for a QB? Yes.

I've seen a lot of people say that it could take this team years to find another franchise quarterback.

I doubt anybody right now would dispute that Burrow looks like a franchise quarterback.

If you believe both those things...

I'm not opposed to it. According to the trade value chart, it would take something along the lines of #7 + our 2nd and next year's 1st, maybe another mid-rounder tossed in. That's a lot.

But, what's Cam's value? If he's part of that trade maybe it's just #7 and our 2nd plus Cam. Or maybe you trade Cam separate from that deal.

To be clear, I want Cam here in Carolina but if we've made the decision to move on from Cam you have to find who's next. Who's next is clearly not on the roster currently, that much we know.

Assuming you start him as a rookie.

What if you don't?

For the record, Burrow reminds of Joe Montana.... legit. His poise, pocket presence, ability to make all throws and the additional ability to move around.

Also for the record, I don't think we move up for Burrow, but if we were to, here's what the Rams gave up to move from pick 15, to the 1st overall for Goff.......Burrow is light years ahead of what Goff was at Cal.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/15201946/tennessee-titans-trade-no-1-pick-los-angeles-rams

TLDR:

Rams trade:  First round pick (15th overall), two second rounders (picks 43 & 45), third round pick (76 overall)+ next year's 1st and 3rd round picks

Titans trade: 1st overall pick, fourth rounder (113 overall) and a sixth rounder (177 overall)

Worth mentioning the Rams were trading from the 15th spot to 1st. Our 7th overall pick will hold more value and the Bengals will still be getting a really good player at 7.

QB’s are so damn hard to find. If you have a chance to get your guy, you do it.

If we had to give up something similar as the Rams did and let’s say minus one of their two 2nd rounders due to us drafting 7th vs 15th. I’m doing it.

I THINK the Titans have Corey Davis and Derrick Henry to show for all those draft picks. Obviously Henry is currently doing his thing right now but Davis as been VERY meh since being drafted.

And you don't let Marty do the negotiating.

Tepper needs to do that himself.

I think Cincy is gonna laugh at the chart.  Theyll want more.

I think a lot depends on the direction the team is going.... teardown/rebuild vs. regrouping and rolling with Cam. Trying to foresee what the trajectory is with rolling forward piecing together certain players vs. going full rebuild is something that guys better than Hurney are made for. There's also a good chance that Cincy could still secure Herbert at 7 or be in position to move up to select him. Would they weigh taking a lesser QB + the additional draft capital vs. a guy like Burrow. GMs get fired for moves like this if they don't work out.

A Rhule + Brady + Burrow reset button would be quite interesting to dream about, and I'm a huuuuuge Cam fan. There is nothing about Burrow's game that I don't like and he is a franchise changing QB.
