I'm fine with people disagreeing with me as long as they have an intelligent argument.

You don't.

Marty has presided over fourteen offseasons. Only three of them have produced winning teams, and two of those came when he still had a lot of George Siefert's players.

Even after somebody fixed his mess and he was handed a playoff team, he still managed to screw it up.

He's made some absolutely horrible draft choices and some even worse free agency choices.

Even the good draft choices tended to come because he built such a sh-tty team the previous year that we were drafting high...again.

He operates on a win now / year to year basis and regularly mortgages the future.

There's more evidence that Bigfoot exists then there is the Marty's cap management skills do.

It's pretty obvious to see that the longer he's in charge, the worse the team gets.

And heck, even when he went to praise him, David Tepper had to rethink his words and scale down his compliment.

But none of that matters. He's a great GM because he got one draft choice right nine years ago.

He drafted Cam Newton, so he must be a great GM. The actual win-loss record doesn't matter because we've got Newton.

Or do we?

Tell me, if he gets traded or cut this year, who's the GM that's going to be doing that?

Now we are shifting the goal post, all what you said can be ignored because this has zero to do with what I originally stated, which is I trust in tepper....now if you want to display why tepper shouldn’t be trusted you have an argument but trying to come at with some hurney yada yada when I haven’t directly endorse him is having tunnel vision to the point you’ve ignored any key details that have been displayed clearly prior to this soap box post.

and again where tf are you getting the notion that I praise hurney because he drafted Newton? Somebody get this dude up out of here you just created your own narrative about something I’ve never utter on this forum. This is Sanjay level posting you’re participating in

Because I've seen your posts before.

And sorry, but Tepper doesn't have enough of a resume' of good moves that his endorsement of Hurney is enough.

I gave you several reasons why Hurney is a terrible GM. All you've given is the word of a guy who we don't know we can trust yet.

Do better.

Where in any of my post have I declared hurney a “great” gm Simply because he’s drafted Newton ? Hasn’t been anywhere where I’ve declared him great so gtfo of here with that accusation.

you gave me several reasons why hurney is a terrible gm to you, which is irrelevant because I’ve not stated in this thread or indicated that I endorse hurney, instead I’ve stated I’m good with whatever tepper is good with...so we can ignore what I’ve stated and you can pretend you’re arguing with someone who stated the things you’ve so adamantly disagreed or you can read, carefully so you don’t skip over the important tidbits, or you can address tepper as not having the reputation to make important decisions on the franchise

So I'll ask you directly then: Is Marty a good GM or not? And if so, why?

(FYI: "because he drafted Player X" isn't a valid reason)

Breaking in to two, hurney 1.0 below average

Hurney 2.0 average to slightly slightly above  average.

if you want to combine his entire career, I’d go with average but I’d listen to arguments about being below

The guy that presided over a historic collapse in one year, failed to secure a capable backup quarterback the following year and built one of the worst run defenses ever is "slightly above average"...

Sure.

He put together 2015 roster and Ron couldn’t win with all those stars.   He can do it again. Case closed.

You mean the 15-1 team made up of all the same players that went 7-9 in 2012. Or 6-10 in 2011( minus Luke) or the worst team In the NFL. Over 80% of the roster Was DGs. And does that mean his 2003 SB is Seiferts team?

Why could Ron win with another GM? If the case is closed, what’s the answer to that?

I'm pretty sure he was bullsh-tting.

If not, yikes!
