"Today, I had the opportunity to sit down with (general manager) Marty Hurney and have a great conversation regarding my future with the organization. The team and I are both on the same page that it is best we go in different directions for now," Olsen said. "On the field, I will always cherish the nine seasons we shared together. How does this work in regards to him still having 1 more year on his deal?  Can we not trade him for a late draft pick?  Does he give up all money on his final year , or will we still have dead money as if we cut him?

Considering Hurney is in charge , wouldn’t be surprised if were getting screwed somehow.

I'd expect him to wind up being released.

Nobody's going to offer anything worthwhile in trade for a guy you've already said you're parting ways with.
