Are you ready to wait five years to be competitive?

awful presumptuous to assume we’ll be competitive within 5 years of running off an mvp quarterback. considerably less realistic than allowing him the opportunity to get healthy and being competitive next season

Cam doesn't have it anymore. He's older, doesn't run (what made him great and unique), doesn't have a good O-line, isn't on that 15-1 team, and is rusty. Superman is just a nickname. But like I said, I fully expect him to play every game next season. Hope we can muster 8 wins.

Competitive? We've never had back to back winning seasons, 15-1 was an anomaly, and we've only had one great QB in franchise history. I've been waiting for us to be competitive since day one, lol.

Cmon now .

Winning division titles, 2 Super Bowl appearances in 20 years and having an overall franchise record at or right around .500 isn’t competitive?

Maybe you meant we haven’t  been dominant.

One off years isn't competitive. It's luck. Competitive means year in and year out you're in the run. We aren't. Now, to be fair, not that many teams are competitive in recent memory. So it's not that big of a deal really.

No, we were suffering a slow death.  The rebuild started the moment Rhule was hired.

Nah, it won't be that long. If Cam can bounce back healthy, they just need to build the trenches and retool the defense, if they decide to move on from Cam then next year you can Tank for Trevor.

There have been plenty of teams that had a franchise QB and the next offseason built a great team through the draft and FA. The slow death would've been Rivera and his ilk getting another opportunity to poo the bed.

List all those teams dealing with the exact same issues as this team.  Then narrow that list down to the ones that had a complete turnover in staff.  And finally post their record after this miraculous turn around you speak of?

the most bewildering take of all. he is an elite pocket passer. maybe you should turn off wapner and tune into the games on sundays instead

never did. won an mvp.

Since the panthers came into the league how many teams have an overall record over .500?

The exact quote, courtesy of Jonathan Jones...

Teams turn things around in 1 season all the time. 49ers were terrible last year. Now they’re in the Super Bowl. That’s the culture we live in these days, and in the NFL

They'll need to have a great draft and FA. They're obviously going to have to find some pieces and refill the roster but it's not out of the ordinary in the NFL.

2017 Saints - 7-9 previous year, 11-5 the next

2010 49ers - 6-10 previous year, 13-3 the next, they've actually did it twice this decade

2005 Bears - 5-11 previous year, 11-5 the next and that was with Rex Grossman at QB

2017 Rams - 4-12 previous year, 11-5 the next

Did all of those teams have a complete staff turnover? No but I'd rather take a gamble to be great and shoot for the moon before I give Ron a chance for more "missed opportunities". The key is making sure you have a franchise QB, a O-line to protect that QB, and then you've got a solid base.

Yeah, and how many of them are amazing?

Jesus. His yardage and TD passes alone proves he isn't elite. His running made him special. That's what got him the MVP. Otherwise Brady would've won it.

never did. won an mvp.

Do you even follow this team? He's had good lines. Just not recently.

lol oh yeah that very talented 15-1 team

Could beat this team to death and then some.

it’s football little guy. players get hurt and work their way back.

Ok, Jimmy, he'll be your Superman from the get go and you can dab in your living room again! Wait, no, you troll during games. No time to dab.

i’m sure this sounded way better in your head

You people think he's some sort of god or something. Without his running he's average at best. Like Rivers without all the yards but with all the INTs.

cam has done more with less

Neat. I'm glad you think he can carry this current squad.

You're a hoot, Coot.
