The Perfect Draft (If Cam Comes Back 100% Healthy)

That would be a home run so we won't be doing that.

Pick a MLB in the 1st. Go ahead and throw the 2nd ans 3rd round picks out and pencil in a warm body that won't contribute and follow it up with an injurey prone project in the 4th, a guy that contributes in the 5th as a backup or 3rd/4th year starter and the 6th round and 7th round guys will be cut or sent to the practice squad. Clasic Hurney draft.

I would rather have you as the GM.

Unfortunately this is the most realistic prediction I’ve seen yet.

So our first pick will be a lineman who won't likely make an immediate impact?

Ok.

Greg Little is a better option than a rookie Tackle.

You have no damn idea if Little or Thomas is better

What we know right now is Little is an injury prone LT who had so-so performance his rookie season. And Thomas is a grade A certified bad ass LT from college.

The idea is you let the best man win the job. Then you put the other dude at LG and have a road grading o line

If Little is good and stays healthy that only benefits you in terms of the quality and depth of your offensive line

Andrew Thomas won’t make an immediate impact? Greg Little is a better option? What are you smoking??

I don't understand this thinking that Greg Little showed he's a great LT for the future based on what happened last season

If anything you're taking a bigger risk by banking your future on an injury prone LT with dubious skills and not being proactive about trying to finally find Gross' successor.

We all saw with Daryll Williams you can't just trot dudes out there after major injuries and expect them to be good

If anything Thomas might be much safer bet based on his college record

    • The preference for smallish NTs was bizarre to me. I mean, you're already looking for a bit of a unicorn with a NT anyway trying to find a guy who can consistently hold his ground against double teams. Now you want to find a smaller, quicker guy who can do it? Yeah, good luck with that...
    • Yep. I had 2 shoulder surgeries (same shoulder) in college. What you say is true because the joint is a ball-in-socket joint and not like a knee, which is a hinge joint.  Another reason (this from my orthopedic surgeon) it is more difficult to overcome is because people want and need to walk, so they are constantly rehabbing the knee.  You can protect the shoulder and avoid using it.  And you can play with a banged up shoulder because it does not reduce your game speed much.  As long as I kept my arm in tight (close to my rib cage) I was fine--but when I extended my arm, I felt vulnerable and it was weaker, it seemed. A shoulder issue was common with LBs.  I don't recall seeing a LB in the dressing room without a surgical scar on is shoulder.
    • F- pick. Taking a hurt RB is the dumbest thing a team starved for tallent could have done in the 2nd. As for planning for 2025, they could have just waited since he brought nothing to 2024. That entire argument that they were playing the long game is like such a copout, just admit it was busted from every angle. They bet poorly and lost. It was a dumb pick and a complete waste of a chance to pick up a meaningful player this team still desperately needs. Picks like that is why this team is picking top 10 ever y year.
