From Jordan Rodriguez opinion..

Defense heavy draft early and pass catchers later.. According to Jordan on Wfnz..

Sounds par for the course. We know the guys at 7, but this is a great OT/WR class and of course instead of taking studs early at 38/69 who would be 1st or early 2nd most year we’ll go CB/S/LB and get little to no value.

Hurney continues to go straight need and ignores value so we never take advantage of a strong class that drops guys who would go higher in other years. That’s how you build playoff contenders by getting great value every year.

They could probably still get a good pass catchers in the 3rd.. None of the TE are great so you might catch a 5th rounder on that.. Plus the defense was the worst and has more holes in it now... Ppl wanting Oline might want to realize that their not giving up on Little Daily or Pardis this soon .. We might sign a vet OT and maybe draft a young guy who can play guard and centers for depth... But from what Jordan is getting Defense might be a focal point this offseason with some offensive player sprinkled in .. Until they make a move with Cam atleast..

I know most Huddle fans will want a DT at 7, and when that DT is banged up and useless they'll blame the GM or whomever. As for Jordan, well we know Cam's opinion.

The pick needs to be a LT if the value is there. If not we need to think about Judy. We can't be a 13 point offense and accomplish anything, and that's what we look like on paper now without Olsen and a poop LT. It's not rocket science. We need TDs, not a little better run defense. We need to be smart for once.

We wasn't a 13 point offense last year thoe..

You're still not great putting a rookie at left tackle either on paper.. No matter who you put at left tackle (unless they sign a vet) either rookie or 2nd year player they still need to develop.. And it still doesn't look great on paper..

If we draft Kinlaw at 7 we're pretty much sunk. Cam will get injured and even if somehow he doesn't we're going to be watching a horrible offense. We can't whiff on the 7th pick. We have to fix the o-line, no choice. So if it's Kinlaw then I'm calling for Marty's head.

“A little better run defense”

LOLZ

We had the worst run defense I’ve ever seen us field

    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.
    • Hiring Shula & his Cam save us playbook.
    • I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
