Word is he didn't impress at the combine.  Makes you wonder if he's an overachiever and has low ceiling.

Reminds me of Zach Allen last year. He dropped to the 3rd (I wouldn’t have taken him there) and he was mocked late first a bunch. He looked bad at the Senior Bowl which had a bunch of day 1 and day 2 OL prospects. Epenesa will drop due to the combine. He did abuse Austin Jackson (USC OT) in the bowl game but again might be that overachiever that doesn’t do well in the NFL.

Be shocked if...

On draft night half the Huddle isn't trying to enshrine our pick in the HOF while the other half is writing him off as a bust and proclaiming we're doomed to suck for the next decade due to this one pick.

When did you get your degree in divination?

Don't be surprised if:

  • The Panthers trade down in the first round...MAYBE twice...to get additional picks.
  • The Panthers do not land any of the following: Brown, Okudah, Simmons, Wirfs, Kinlaw.
  • None of the first four draft picks for the Panthers are on offense.
  • The Panthers do NOT draft a QB.
  • No WR is drafted.
  • The Panthers trade up into the 2nd or 3rd rounds for additional picks (there are a lot of good Day 2 picks available)
  • CMC is the subject of MANY trade rumors.
  • CMC is actually traded for picks this year and next.
  • None of the players drafted are from Baylor, unless drafted in the later rounds (5-7).
  • The Panthers are not aggressive in free agency.

Or a WR at all or at least until the 5th when you aren’t getting one of the studs who’d actually be amazing.

In this draft the wr in the 4th or 5th rounds will be as good as most drafts 2nd or 3rd rounds wr.  You could wait until the 5th and still get a guy your team has a 2nd round grade on.  I think over/under 20 receivers get drafted between the middle of the 3rd and the end of the 4th.

True. I was more stating that like the interior OL of the past two drafts, it wouldn’t surprise me if we wait too long to get a just OK WR instead of one with actual impact. Our interior OL strategy was to get UDFA Gs thinking that we could wait and hopefully get a Norwell. We didn’t come close. We don’t need a WR3, we need a guy who can get Moore and Samuel open more.

Don't be surprised if we go all defense in the first 2 days, as that is where the glaring holes are.

Yep, but maybe not the best value since WR and T look great and way deeper than usual. Marty has bad drafts when he drafts on need and with a hard-on for specific players ignoring the best players available.

Don't be surprised if our third round pick is Temple C Matt Hennessy. Don't even be surprised if he's our second rounder.

I like some of the Centers in the draft this year.  There are about 4-5 that could go day 2.

You're right, but if everyone thinks that, we could see a first rounder drop into the second--that would shake things up.  Free agency (at DT especially) is going to be important.
