Bridgewater is going to try to find a starting job somewhere.  NO put a 1st round tender on Hill; he's not going anywhere and furthermore tipped their hand in doing so to who they want the heir apparent to Brees to be.

However, what relevance to the price of tea in China this has to the Panthers...well, let's just say Juan is up to his old tricks again.

I’m super excited if they think he is the next one to take over for Brees.

I honestly am starting to worry. The constant rumors would've had to have been debunked. I really hope this whole debate is over, but I just can't ignore this believing this is just multiple reporters hoping to poke at the right place.

It's pretty easy for everyone here to agree Cam was AT LEAST discussed in a trade conversation. I honestly just want this over one way or another, but this is WAY too one-sided for my taste.

@Pantherzack179812, was looking at something else and ran across a quote from Tepper where he denies any knowledge of any trade talks involving Cam.  If such trade talks had taken place, David Tepper would know.

"There has been murmurs regarding trades, as well, but when asked if teams had reached out about Newton and if he's available for trade, Tepper replied in the negative.

"I haven't heard about that," he said."

yeah, that's because it was before the period those things could be discussed.  him not being able to pass a physical has kinda put it all to rest for now.

So in what world is Teddy a better QB option than Cam?

Teddy won't be a cheap option like a rookie. He'll demand top dollar when the time comes. And are we more confident that Teddy will be healthy longer then Cam? Cam's recent injuries aren't even in the same ballpark as Teddy's. His knee was friggin destroyed. Like every friggin ligament was shredded. Cam is a workout warrior. Always has been. He'll be back gents. This isn't 1993 Friday Night Lights with Boobie's ACL. It's 2020. The only thing athlete's don't recover from now a days is concussions.

I think N.O. will do their best to figure out a way to keep Bridgewater around.

As to his health, while the injury he suffered was gruesome he's long since proven the knee is perfectly healthy.  It will probably bother him in later life but I doubt it hinders his football career at all going forward.

I'd be more concerned if he had turf toe.  From a long-term perspective a nagging injury like that can be more troublesome than total knee construction.

This is what the QB depth chart will look like when camp opens:

1.  Cam

2.  Kyle

3.  Will

You could certainly do worse than a QB that ranked 11th among all QBs last season in his 5 game stint.

I think the only way he ends up here is if Cam Newton is out the door this year in a trade, or being let walk in FA next season.

There is a lot of reason to think he could end up here. He's familiar with Brady, and the New Orleans passing scheme that Rhule himself said he wanted to model the passing game around. Teddy is young at 26 years old, and is a very intelligent QB who takes care of the ball, and has a sky high completion rating.

If you're going to sign a QB in FA there are no better options out there than Bridgewater.

Right now the hot talk is he is going to land up in Tampa, so if you're not on the Teddy train you don't have too much to worry about at the moment.

    • Hello, soccer fans [crickets, tumbleweed flies by]. The World Cup kicks off in less than 2 weeks and, well, 🇺🇸USA USA USA🇺🇸 and all. We beat Senegal 3-2 yesterday in a tune-up friendly at BoA, with Christian Pulisic finally entering the scoring column.  How will we do in the World Cup once our tournament kicks off on the 12th? Well, there are 48 teams (assuming Iran is there) and it feels like one of two thing happens: we get grouped for the first time since '98, or we make it to the Round of 16 for the third time in the last four World Cups. I tried out the lottery for an Atlanta game and struck out, so yesterday was as World Cup as I'll get for in-person ($285/ticket for like Norway vs $39/ticket for USMNT right beforehand was a layup).  The U.S. has a travel-heavy schedule in group play, playing in LA, Seattle and LA. Real road warrior mentality being built. Glad the east coast gets worse kickoff times for a NA World Cup than a Qatar World Cup.
    • Well, that's the thing. Drafting players only for their physical measurables as you are suggesting only really happened during 2024, and X unfortunately has become the poster child for that. To be clear, it's not necessarily about drafting RAS over skill, but RAS over NFL-readiness and/or a solid body of work. Lots of players show skill in college, but those skills don't necessarily translate to the NFL for a multitude of reasons. But, getting back to the main point, to be clear, I believe that our FO is still enamored with physical gifts (who wouldn't be?), but now they're letting Dr. Eric Eager's proprietary system--his "secret sauce" prioritize the players that the Panthers draft, and it seems like it weighs not only a solid body of work, relative to a college career of course, but consistent gradual improvement as evidenced by production pretty highly.
    • Its a good article about how pathetically bad our past drafts ('23 and '24) have been. Building the team in '23 since we weren't ready yet and taking your qb in '24 made so much more sense in hindsight. Ladd McConkey over XL is pretty much a given but not sure it does as much to change Bryce's trajectory as the author suggests.  As bad as '23 and '24 drafts were, the '25 and '26 really give me hope.
