With a different coach...

Serious question.. Do they win that game with anybody but Gruden going against his old team from a year ago.. That superbowl looked like he knew everything the Raiders were going to do and the actual name of each play...

Really? Wouldn't we have to score for that to happen?

Joke all you want.. On paper so far they built a race car offense.. With alot of speed good run after the catch  guys and a young offensive mind with a get points quickly system...  The defense probably sucks but the offense is going to put up points.

It’s ok if he wins 5 games. Just get the draft capital to trade up.

We will never get near enough to move up. If you thought the Eagles and Rams gave up a lot to move up for Wentz and Goff then you’ll be amazed at what it will take to move up for Lawrence and Fields. Besides, you likely can’t as those teams won’t take a trade.

Great to heat we ain’t tanking but Teddy isn’t winning this division. I’ll enjoy watching and root for the best but my two cents are that this in between strategy is going to fail to win much and will also fail to lose enough. We will be in the mediocre band and we unfortunately will not take advantage of the period where Brees and Brady are gone and Ryan is limping to 40.

Some of these people don’t want to win if Cam isn’t the QB.  They won’t give Rhule a chance... they have no interest in seeing what Tepper can do with HIS people in place.  You have to ask why that is?  Because they’re not really fans, is my guess.  Bigger fans of one guy than the team itself.  Sad.

I agree that building a culture where you expect to win and are accountable is more important than a few draft picks down the road. Given the last 2 years and guys giving up last year, it is totally appropriate to churn the roster.  I would rather have the players hustle and bust their butt playing hard than half assing it for the paycheck. Even big year we had was preceded by a losing season so what we do this year is important for next year when we should be much better.

For the record, we could win 5 or 6 games this year similar to what we did in Rivera's first season with Cam.

I didn’t know the current roster is the final one we are playing in 2020 with. News to me.

The past two drafts have netted us two starters so far. The roster right now is pretty damn close to the roster we are playing with in 2020. I’d assume pick 7 and 38 should absolutely start, but honestly based on the past two drafts we can’t count on that.

    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
    • Yea Bryce was definitely a top half qb the second half of last season but I'm not sure Canales is 100% sold on him.  Like I've said in another post I think that's part of why we talked to so many South Carolina players in the draft process.  I think they are doing early due diligence on Sellers just in case.
