Wish they had the same energy when it came to letting him know if he was staying instead of leaving him in the dark until well into fa

They wanted to see if they could get something in return once he was healed and out of a cast. They can’t tell him whether someone was going to trade for him or not.

If he was on the block, like he should have been, months ago, if they knew they had zero interest in retaining him. If you had no offers by the beginning of March he should have been released at the beginning of fa.

and if he wasn’t on the block until midway through fa that’s just utter incompetence

He was definitely on the block earlier with no interest, but they probably thought they’d be able to get offers when he’s up and about practicing and posting workout videos throwing a football vs. rolling around in a scooter or wheels with his leg in a cast...which wasn’t until pretty recently. And they probably didn’t predict his contact with other teams physically would be limited due to the virus, which certainly didn’t help the situation.

Furthermore, if they just said screw it we will just release him after putting him on IR while he’s still rolling around in a cast, I’m not sure about this, but they may have owed him more money to do that.

It’s as simple as speaking with a interested team and asking if/when cam is healthy would you still be interested in a trade, I also don’t know when he was on the block due to the double talk the Fo engaged in, they said he’s available but for a significant haul so maybe that scared teams off? Idk but either way you slice it, it was handled as poorly as possible

me personally,I don’t think he was seriously on the block until teddy agreed to come here, I think cam was just a backup plan in case teddy wasn’t available, if cam was notified prior to I also don’t think he goes in a interview and says he’ll be back.

I've followed the Panthers since the first Super Bowl run, and honestly believe that Cam put Carolina on the map. Life goes on and the business goes on, so I'm looking forward to when he can come back to be enshrined within the hall of honor.

    • Most of the talk revolving around Baker's injury is speculation. It wouldn't surprise me if the Bucs have been gaming the injury report but Bowles has already been fired from one head coaching gig. He's decidedly mediocre at best as a head coach. I just don't want to see the Bucs upgrade. But if they do fire Bowles and hire a first time head coach I think things could get bumpy with Baker Mayfield at the helm sooner or later. As far as Coen it's still early. I remember when Brian Daboll was a hot name his first couple seasons with the Giants. Now he's unemployed. It's a marathon not a sprint. We're seeing less and less coaches with true staying power. Or at least certainly less that don't ultimately hit a wall by year 3 or 4. I don't think we're gonna see too many John Harbaugh's and Mike Tomlin's in the coming years. Too much outside noise and too little patience nowadays.
    • Frank what are you even talking about? He was the #1 QB in his high school class and the #2 overall recruit. Why would he be at a smaller school? Dude threw for dang near 5000 yards his sophomore season at Alabama with Jamison Williams and John Metchie. Good players but more speed than skilled. Maybe that's this dude's problem. Panthers keep bringing in big body WRs, but maybe he needs wiry fast guys instead.  CJ Stroud threw for over 4000 that season too. Care to look at his receivers?
    • You can blame DC or you can blame Bryce but reality is it’s both of them. Bryce is making the decision to check down so much but DC isn’t committed to the run 🤷‍♂️
