I'm going to be torn if we have to select between Okudah and Simmons.

It's probably just scheme preference between the two. We don't know exactly what Rhule/Snow want to run yet so I'll defer to them if the team gets that lucky.

The Lions are taking Brown or Okudah; we have to hope the other makes it to us.  Fingers crossed the Giants go OT.

I think if someone trades to 2 that helps the chances Okuda falls to us.

If nobody trades up and if Washington doesn't go Tua then there is a good chance Okuda goes to Lions.

but

If someone trades to 2 for Tua, lets say the Dolphins, then Young falls to Lions and they take him.

At that point Giants are picking 4, and I could easily see them go Simmons or Brown with DG as the GM.

5 would be the Redskins, here again with RR I could easily see them go Simmons or Brown, I don't think RR values DBs much.

That leaves Chargers at 6, good chance they go OT or QB.

Long story short, if someone trades up to 2 to take Tua I think there is a good chance Okuda will be there for us.

If he doesn't get picked by Detroit, chances are pretty good we'll have a chance to take him. I'd be very happy. Feel like his floor as a rookie is Bradberry this year at a third of the cost.  Long term he seems to have the chops to compete for the title of best db in football.

CB is deep this year so that could push Okudah down or it means we can still get a solid one on day 2.

I was watching CJ Henderson tape.  He may be there for us at #38.  Here's the knock: as with most CBs, not the most sound/willing tackler when the action is in front of him.  Very solid coverage guy, but very average tackler. We already have a shoe duster with Action Jackson, we don't need two of them back there.

Jeudy. By the time he develops his contract will be up. No thanks

I don’t understand the love for Jeudy. He’s not Julio Jones, so why take him at 7 when there’s a cluster of guys not far behind him at all. Wouldn’t shock me at all to see 3 or 4 other WRs turn out better. You can’t say that for any other position. WR is deep. That doesn’t mean to ignore them until the 5th (listen up Marty, this is for you), but day 2 will yield WRs that other years would be 1st rounders or early 2nds. The value is there to basically get an extra 1st round pick if you do it right. I’m sure we won’t seeing as how analysts are mocking us for going hog wild on FA WRs, but it’s there.

Man, it really is frustrating being a fan and feeling like we are blowing a great opportunity to rebuild. Throwing away 4 2021 3rd to 5th round picks. Signing every FA WR when the draft is filled with cheap rookie WRs who are better. Feeling like we had the pole position for Lawrence or Fields, great consolations for getting rid of Cam, and then throwing all the cap savings you get with a rookie QB just to have a mediocre bridge QB. So frustrating.

Exactly.. Unless he is Megatron.. The signing of 18 other WR's made this a moot discussion...

Okudah is a complete CB but not a top 5 player IMO.  Not as impactful as these other dudes...just my opinion.

He's a top 5 player I'm sorry but that is the mass opinion... He is already being compared to Ramsay and Gilmore...

    • You're correct (on its face). But PFF does indeed use advanced stats to come up with their grades. Not trying to turn this into a debate about PFF (at all because it's been done ad nauseum), but here is how PFF explains it:   GRADES VS. STATS We aren’t grading players based on the yardage they rack up or the stats they collect. Statistics can be indicative of performance but don’t tell the whole story and can often lie badly. Quarterbacks can throw the ball straight to defenders but if the ball is dropped, you won't see it on the stat sheet. Conversely, they can dump the ball off on a sequence of screen passes and end up with a gaudy looking stat line if those skill position players do enough work after the catch. PFF grades the play, not its result, so the quarterback that throws the ball to defenders will be downgraded whether the defender catches the ball to notch the interception on the stat sheet or not. No amount of broken tackles and yards after the catch from a bubble screen will earn a quarterback a better grade, even though his passing stats may be getting padded. The same is true for most positions. Statistics can be misleading. A tackle whose quarterback gets the ball out of his hands quicker than anybody else may not give up many sacks, but he can still be beaten often and earn a poor grade. Receivers that are targeted relentlessly could post big-time numbers but may offer little more than the product of a volume-based aerial attack. https://www.pff.com/grades So PFF uses stats to come up with player grades and rankings.
