  1. 1. In a completely hypothetical where Brown, Okuda and Simmons are all available, you choose:

    • Brown over Simmons, Okudah
      21
    • Okudah over Simmons, Brown
      45
    • Simmons over Brown, Okudah
      27
    • Top WR--class is too deep not to take the top guy
      3
    • Got to fix OT now; draft one of these dudes!
      9
    • Herbert or another QB (NOT named Joe Burrow)
      5

This should settle where the bulk of us are at with the draft in a few weeks.  No trades and we are on the clock with the 7th pick.  QBs are out of the question.

Edit: Due to some requests and Hurney's penchant to make dumb mistakes...I added QBs.

Herbert needs to be on list

Why?  Just because Hurney went to his pro day?   The only QB we want will be long gone.  If Tua slides, maybe.  No way we take Herbert at #7.  We'd take Love before Herbert and that ain't happening either.

I think I'd go Simmons, but it's really a tough call. Are we trying to stick with the "be competitive" approach we are taking or trying to get Lawrence? I think Simmons is the best player, but he doesn't make us enough better on D for 2020. We still can't stop the run and we do need a CB or two badly. I honestly don't care about 2020, but the powers that be are trying to act like 2020 matter.s

It's the first draft and the foundation of the new team.  I don't care how talented the 2021 draft is, if Hurney/staff comes up 1 of 8 or 2 of 8 this year, then 2021 has to be a home run draft. If Hurney is still here, that won't happen either.

I would hope this is true but don’t underestimate Hurney’s retardedness. I’d hate Herbert at 7 but I’m prepared for the possibility, and I do think it is a real one.

If Okudah is there you run thr card up..

Positional value high ...check

Need... check

Player ranking and talent level ....check

Personally, I'm torn between Brown and Okudah.  I think Brown will make the most immediate impact and I voted that way.  That said, I like the 2nd round DTs way better than the 2nd round CBs.  So setting up the team for value in the 2nd, I prefer Okudah in the 1st round.

I'm not optimistic for any draft with Hurney anymore. Pick 7 will likely be a stud (not Herbert), which will have very little to do with him. Brown, Simmons and Okudah will not all be available so our choice will either be made or a coin flip. If the 2020 draft is like the last two, we better have the top pick in 2021 or the rebuild/retool is going to take way longer than expected.

2021 would have been a lot easier to be a home run if we had 4 comp picks.

I feel the same way about Hurney.  As long as he's here, our odds of a stellar draft is minimal. This was a completely hypothetical exercise...realizing there's no way this will actually happen.  However, it's like going all-in in a poker game, I wanted see the cards everyone is holding.

    • Yeah lol well the interest isn’t really about seeking stimulation.  I wanted to see how actually bad it was.  And how much of it was women setting him up to be their cash cow.  That is the stuff that leveraged the Panthers into David Tepper’s hands. It is important in that sense.     The worst that I have heard is that he got them in the car and clumsily reached across to help them with their seat belt and made contact. With his arm. That was probably his big slick move. And I can almost guarantee he wasn’t rejected every time. It is easy to picture that action bringing his head close enough to the woman’s head to where he could go in for the kiss if he thought he got the green light.    I really don’t care if JR was a horn dog. We heard all our lives up until the last few years that one of the perks of being really old is that you can flirt with the young women and it is not just tolerated but expected. So he was keeping a tradition alive at some point 😂
    • Well I rubbed some dirt on it and am still here just not optimistic about the future of the QB position. Even what I had accepted as a ceiling raised to an acceptable level turned out to be a bit of a mirage, upon rewatch of the WC game.  Good plays were there yes, but some pretty bad ones too that the good ones late in the game kind of obscured. I have to downgrade that a little.  Especially after rewatching the last 4 plays. I remember the arguments about he did his job the WRs didn’t but that was really just that last muff by Coker I think it was on our final offensive play.   To the future: I know what my level is for paying him and recommitting, but I don’t have any confidence that the team shares my high bar.    But thanks for the pep talk
