We know we're rebuilding but looking at what the other teams in the division has done so far.

Bucs

Gain: Brady and Gronk

Saints

Lose: Bridgewater

Gain: Malcom Jenkins, Emmanuel Sanders

Falcons

Lose: Desmond Trufant, Devante Freeman, Vic Beasley

Gained: Dante Fowler, Todd Gurley, Hayden Hurst (TE many had mocked to us in the 1st 2 years ago)

NFC South to look like poo this year.  I can see a team getting in at 8-8.

Every team in the division besides us are in 'win now' mode.  So yeah, they are buying the essential pieces they feel will get them over the hump.  Us?  We added just enough players so we can actually field a team this year and not have to forfeit each game.

Well to be fair, reports are that some of us are in "win now" mode too.

You if one of those three teams (Tampa, New Orleans or Atlanta) may get in at 8-8 which NFCS looking like poo, that means we’ll be 4-12?

Emmanuel Sanders to the Saints is one that made me groan.

We were players for him last year at the trade deadline as well. If only we had gotten him then where he wouldn’t have **** all over our defense when we played San Francisco and we win that game by a TD.

We are built to “win now”, however we are also built for the long run with the youth we have all over our roster.

Jeff Ireland has done wonders for your last few drafts. I'm still trying to engineer a way we can steal him.

He and Matt Rhule are friends, you know.

You don’t have a HoF QB past this year or maybe 1 more.

Not to be a homer, but I'm okay with our moves and excited at our future. A lot of these moves by the other 3 teams are for veteran players, and the Saints and Bucs have 40+ year old QBs, so they are win now for sure. Let them enjoy the next year or two, but we will be the stronger team long-term.

We added the top QB in free agency not named Tom Brady and is only 27 years old. Top WR not named Amari Cooper and is also 27. We also improved our LT position and may have a lateral move at RG depending on who goes there.... Miller is a very capable starting RG (26 years old).

Our defense is shiite.... but we have the highest draft picks of the others in the NFCS, so if we bring in someone like Brown/Simmons in R1, they will wreak havoc.

You guys do realize Brees and Brady will be playing another 10+ years right?

Brady wants to play until his own grandkids are old enough to be his teammates, but I don't think Brees has any such aspirations.

And yeah, it's possible. Though you'd have to build the best offensive line you possibly could to make it work.

The Saints have already done that. The Bucs? Not so much

    • Wanting that type of play and being okay with paying $55 million a season for it are two entirely different things. If Bryce were to become the same player Purdy has been, then he would surpass my expectations of him and I'd be okay with him as our QB of the future (and again, I've long been one of the bigger anti Bryce people here who doesn't think he is capable of being our long term solution). But in no world would I be okay with paying him THAT kind of money, paying an average starter elite money is just a terrible decision.
    • I don't think they can overcome that mistake. Hell Lance was a hiccup compared to this. He isn't going to be able to carry that price tag and now he is going to have to do just that. Lol. The NFL is so dumb sometimes.
    • So, one could say that T-Mac is quicker than someone of his size should be and while he might not be quite as fast as Evans in the 40, he's more athletic than Evans. If only someone, anyone, could have seen that in his tape and mentioned that on here, hmmmmmmm In all seriousness, hearing he tested in the 89th percentile in that drill at his size is crazy impressive.  Just tried to look up the times of the top WRs in the league right now, most don't show at time for that, but I did see Chase ran his in 7 seconds flat. I honestly don't know how true this is, but I do remember seeing one breakdown of his tape and the person said he has quiet and efficient feet.  That he's really good at using the minimal steps possible to make his cuts and because of that, it actually makes him look slower to the human eye because you don't see all the quick chop steps that the guys like Tyreek would use in their running. I'm still in a state of disbelief that he's a Panther and it might not fully hit me until week 1 and I see him out there making plays for us, still feels like Goodell is going to just be like, "YOU GOT PUNKED!!!  hahaha, he's a Cowboy now, suck it"
