First: It's oddly funny, even if expected, that some of you just go way out of the way not to give Hurney any credit!

Secondly: Unless you just thought Rhule was an abject idiot, there's no way you actually believed he would undermine the greater effort here by targeting his players to the detriment of the franchise's ultimate goal of building a consistent winner. That whole narrative was/is preposterous!

Yea it doesn’t make any sense you get the best player possible not someone you like because of ties that’s not a winning formula in the nfl Rhule is trying to win not be buddy buddy with his old players.

Yep.  Rhule brought in guys on offense that had ties to him and Joe Brady in this first year to help get their offensive system implemented faster (which is prescient now with this pandemic), but long term Rhule was not going to let his perceived loyalty to his college guys trump building the best pro team.

I have no idea how it's going to work out this year, but I am pleased to see with the draft that there has been at least a discernible plan.

Bring in guys that know the system on offense (including Bridgewater) and draft athletes on defense to help a long-term rebuild there.

This feels a lot like what Pete Carroll did when he first got to the Seahawks.  Of course, we will need to draft (or luck into) a franchise QB like they did with Russell Wilson to ultimately get back to the Super Bowl.

      More praise of Renfrow from Tim Weaver (formerly of USA Today's Panthers Wire, now SI.com), and also what I told some of you, my Huddle friends, from the start: keep it all in perspective, and don't conveniently---and perhaps unfairly, discount and label Renfrow as a JAG when it was a very debilitating illness affecting his play.    "It's understandable to be skeptical about Renfrow's abilities at this late point in his career. After all, he missed all of last season due to a bout of ulcerative colitis that also took a serious toll on his production in 2022 and 2023."   When Renfrow is healthy, he's an above average guy. Being 29 may hurt or help his chances depending upon perspective, but 29 for receivers generally means that there's still (sometimes plenty) gas in the tank. Renfrow also obviously has plenty of motivation and has come with his game face.   "Then agan, seeing is believing and by all accounts Renfrow has been very impressive since joining the Panthers a few months ago... And don't get it twisted; Renfrow isn't the most talented receiver on the team, but we have seen his ceiling, when healthy, in a Raiders offense that wasn't necessary replete with talent. Consider what he can do, especially in the slot, in a Panthers offense primed with young talent (no pun intended). From sick to "sick routes," eh?

      That is literally what I am talking about. Those were 53 man cuts. Not at the beginning of camp.  I would say the odds of Barno being back are extremely thin.
