this sums it up.

it doesn't matter how talented they are, every outspoken personality that has ever played for the patriots has been put in check. the split second they step out of line...they are gone without even a hint of hesitation.

This is close minded. BB values winning above all else, if he believes Cam gives him the best chance to win he won’t care.

Also, who are those players you’re hinting about? Were they star players on the team? Or replaceable players? There’s a difference. Gronk acted out all the damn time and theres no chance in hell Pats would let him go on their own accord.

In what way did Gronk act out?

Belichick is clearly willing to gamble but he'll cut ties immediately if guys get out of line, Antonio Brown and Josh Gordon are good examples as such.

Lawyer Milloy is an example of a guy who didn't toe the line for the team and was unceremoniously cut by Belichick.

The difference between Cam & A.B./J.G. is nothing hinges on those guys -- they are immediately replaceable and aren't seen as a key "representative" of the franchise, low risk by comparison.

Neither Kraft or Belichick are interested in handing the face-of-the-franchise baton off to Cam....complete non-starter.

Probably the best place for him. Damn shame it came to this. It's literally like Anakin joining the god damn dark side because the Panthers (Jedi) failed him. So naturally our arch nemesis will sign him.

Lmao

Not even.

Doubt Newton is a good fit personality wise. Cam is loose, let's have fun, don't take ourselves too serious. Wears outrageous clothes, moves to the beat of his own drum.

On the other hand, Belichick and company seems to be no nonsense, win at all costs by any means necessary. If you ain't cheating you ain't trying. Winning is the only reason to be happy.

Probably the one area they totally agree on is they both hate to lose. I don'tknow if that is enough to overshadow the rest.

And yes, the personalities do matter and it wouldn't be the Patriots accommodating to Cam

Bruh... so was Gronk.

Brown and Gordon got in trouble with the law...

Only thing you could say about Cam is his celebrations and clothes and those shouldn’t be anybody’s concern.

True, but Gronk wasn't the QB.  Tom Brady was the face of that franchise, not Gronk.

He had Tom Brady as his starting QB for two decades. You can’t say he prefers a certain type of quarterback when there’s only been one.

Belichick rode with a serial killer (Hernandez), complete nutjob (Antonio Brown), WWE caricature (Gronk) and took on Randy Moss at a time when he was viewed as a locker room killer.

Don't tell me Belichick wouldn't take a healthy Newton because of "locker room" concerns. It's absurd.

It's money and health.

Just not going to hold my breath on this one. This is going to be an odd season with all the civil unrest, the COVID hit early and a potential resurgence later in the year.

Maybe if no contract is given, Cam might come out the better for missing what may be a lost season anyway.

I didn't ask about Brown & Gordon.

Your representation of the situation is questionable at best but since you mention celebrations, not only are they not in Cam's best interest there are multiple instances where they hurt the team.  Heck, his clothes (or lack thereof) did as well on one occasion.

Cam's wiring and being Belichick's QB are mutually exclusive.

Celebrations have never hurt the team. Cam stopped celebrating after the 2015 season. Some fans who opposed celebrations wanted Cam to bring the swagger back because our team lost the swagger it had.
