Problem is more so with his frame than his weight. That’s why he’s more suited for 3-4. 15 lbs in one year, if he trained hard only 3/4 of that is muscle. Which is fine because he still needs weight. But it’s hard to say how his frame will handle it. Could lose speed, stamina, more injury prone, weight could go to wrong areas etc. Guess we will find out.

At 255 he'll be fine.

Look at Hunter in Minnesota in their 4-3

Jason Taylor is #7 on the all-time sack leader list as a 6'6" 245 pound 4-3 DE. Robert Mathis is #19 and he was only 6'2" 245 as a DE.

Ultimately, prototypical size is usually best. That's why it's the prototype. But, there are plenty of guys at every position who have had huge success despite not fitting the prototype.

I think Burns will always be a leaner DE like Taylor but then again, the guy just turned 22 years old and has a 6'5" frame with 34" arms. It wouldn't shock me if he ended up playing at 270+ at some point.

All good points, but I just can't see him ever getting and maintaining that weight...mostly because of his lower half.  Dude has legs like a WR.

Either way, I'm fully behind him and hope he breaks out.
