Yeah. Good news for Weatherly or bad for Little.

I suspect bad for Little.

It seems that Little is a G--these quick ends are eating his lunch---Of course, a few plays do not make or break anyone-but I am not hearing the word "pancake" much with Little.

Hurney tried to trade up in Round 1 to get him--very Clausenish.

Yeah, he’s been terrible.  I thought it was a good signing at the time.  I’m afraid for Teddy behind our line.

Good thing Teddy got that set for life money. From a football perspective, he may have made a mistake. Though I'm still not convinced that Hurney wasn't essentially bidding against himself.

The bad news is that Weatherly hasn't even proven to be much of a pass rusher thusfar in his career.

Recorded it because I couldn't watch it all live and just went back to it...  noticed some interesting observations about the current defensive starters - they said the black jerseys signify the defensive starters, and so far, I've noticed Chinn, Pride Jr., and Adarius Taylor are all current starters.  We knew Chinn and Taylor had been praised already publicly by the staff, but Pride being up there already is both surprising and encouraging.

I loved the signing at the time as well...  who would've guessed, outside of Elway, that he would be that affected by that leg injury?  And IIRC, Elway alluded to having wanted to bring him back but not at the price we offered him because of the uncertainty with his injury.

All of that being said, I think this scheme is gonna make a huge difference regardless of the quality of protection.  It's similar to New Orleans' scheme, and some of their OL spots have been in constant flux since Brees and Payton have been there...  the ability to spread out the defense, make a a quick read, and get the ball out will hide a lot of our weaker spots along the OL, imo.

Went back and looked again as best as I could... current def starters look to be:

Burns, Brown, KK, YGM

Whitehead, Taylor, Shaq

Pride Jr., Boston, Chinn, Burris

Edit: Not sure if it's based off of packages or what, but also just saw Donte in a black jersey as well.  May have been in place of Burris.

Pride Jr over Jackson would be surprising...

Donte is a starter. Rhule said the current competition is for the spot opposite of donte.

This isn’t a normal year though. We are rebuilding. Which means taking our lumps now in order to bring the young guys up faster.

Manherts gets open when the D forgets he is on the field as a receiver. It's more a complete lack of respect than blown coverage I suspect.

It's such a weird year. All we get without preseason games is the practice hype. That makes me think we are likely to be blindsided by the reality of the situation in game one. The practice hype has been wrong more than right from what I can remember in years past. Only a couple more weeks until we all find out.

I think that the sunshine crowd will take 3-4 games before the reality sets in.

But hopefully we will all be encouraged by guys like Chinn, Brown, Burns, YGM, etc. If we see great effort and play by our young, talented guys, I can stomach the shellings.

The bulk of us realize what the score is this season. We aren't even close to being a built team. Show progress and pieces to build from, move on to 2021 offseason to plug other roster holes.
